I will be having a washer and dryer put in our 38br. We are having it put in at the Redwood plant, in thebonus room instead ofup front. We decided not to have the dishwasher.I will be doing a final with my dealer on my redwood and will ask what brandand model on the side by side washer and dryer.

We have a36FB on order... Delivery in December some time... We ordered it with the dish washer.

It's a Fisher & Paykel -Drawer Model - Stainless interior. Don't know much more about it. Still trying to figure out how to go about winterizing it.

On a 36FB it gets mounted in the island, under the sink, across from the oven.

Hope that helps!

We have been full timing for 2half years.
We picked up a 36 rl in may and love the layout.
Our washer is a splendid 2100 xc washer dryer combination unit
We do all or washing with it but only dry about 20% of our laundry in the washer we hang most of our stuff.
We only dry towel and sheet.
That way we use the other side ( were dryer would be) as a storage arrea for large items.

Well I confused my dealer some more today. After reading all of your opinions and thinking about it I called the salesman this morning and added the washer and dryer. I figure if I spend more moneyI'll help with the economy and help keep the manufacture of the washers and dryers in business.

Besides it's so humiliating when my wife forces me to wash all the clothes with the wash tub and scrub board in front of my fellow campers. It just makes me feel so used. LOL

We have the Splendide Ariston ARWXF129W washer and the Splendide Ariston TVM63X drier in our 36FL. It's great not having to lug your laundry down to the campground laundry or worse, driving it to the nearest laundromat.
The drier takes awhile but that's to be expected since it's a 120vac system.
I've read on other forums that if you have a washer/drier combo, it's a good idea to take the clothes out of the unit and shake them loose between the wash/dry cycle. I guess it helps them dry faster with fewer wrinkles.

Does anyone have the stack washer /dryer option, who well do they work? Where we camp host at we do not have full hook ups so we are skeptical about adding the washer/dryer and dish washer options if they do not work well enough to warrant the extra tank dumping.

How does the washer work? How much water does it use?

The reason I finally decided on the washer and dryer is because I'll be using this unit in my travels for business. That way if I go on a business trip for say 2 weeks I don,t have to pack so many buiness clothes, I'll just wash them.

As for the dish washer, we never use them. When our 3 sons were growing up we bought the best one made for our house and it never did a great job only marginal at best. I think they'er more effort than they're worth, They just don't fit well into my wife and my life but that's only our opinion.

Here are the specs on the stackable combo we have in our RV.
http://www.splendide.com/splendide_stackables.htm

The washer has 13 cycles so water usage ranges from 7.5 - 16 gallons according to their website.
I think it does a fine job at getting clothes clean. We use the high efficiency laundry detergents and 1/2 a drier sheet when we do a load.
We don't do laundry unless we have full hookups or if it's our last day at a campground and we have the room in our grey tank.

Thanks for the information...do you feel it was a good thing to buy? I've never had one in a trailer before.

We've been traveling full time for 6 months now and have had the washer/drier for half of that time. I just asked my DW if she thought it was a good investment and she says "absolutely". Taking care of our laundry needs somewhere other than the trailer was a p.i.t.a.. We all have stories about waiting for a washer or drier, running out of quarters, crayons in the drier, etc... We don't have those issues anymore and like you mentioned, we don't need to keep as many clothes on board as we used to.
Having your own washer/drier in your RV is at least as convenient as having them at home.

As far as having a dishwasher.. we've never missed not having one in our rv. We'd much rather have the storage space.

Has anyone had any luck getting the factory to install shelves in the closet for the washer and dryer? Our sales rep said he could not get it done at the factory. We have found with our work schedule we had rather have the storage and do all the laundry at the same time in a laundry mat.

Our problem last year when we went on a trip was finding a laundry mat. It used to be every town had a couple, but now that's not the case and if you're around a larger town the coin operated laundry isn't always in the best part of town. I stayed in several camp grounds that had equipment (1or 2 washers) and usually one is broke and there's a line to use the one that works.

We spent 3 months last spring in our Montana and that convinced us to get the Vented Combo Washer/Dryer. Now living in it all winter it is really paying off, so we have ordered the same for our 36RL. We try and do a small load every other day, 2 pairs shorts, 4 T-shirts, and underware. Most of the time we just hang them on the line on the back of the rig. The secret is do small loads and remove promptly and everything is fine.
