Trim separation

I noticed that we have separation on our trim. Anyone else notice it and is there a remedy without having to remove and replace (hate to mess up the paint!)

Doesn't look good. As an interim fix I would seal it with caulk to prevent water form penetrating the wall. They are going to have to replace the the entire piece of trim.

It appears trim was cut too long, got warm & expanded. That trim is made somewhat like a "J" & tucks down into lower portion about 2-3" & siliconed in place, might be able to trim one end slightly & reinstall. Mine keeps raising on the small piece in front of propane doors & I just keep pushing down, may end up putting couple of stainless screws in the ends.

Called the factory today and told not to worry (as we are traveling back north in the next couple of weeks). They mentioned that either screws or re application would be in order.
I think I will wait and see as we travel if it expands.

Thank you for all your insight and help!

Steve - when we departed the desert and headed North our door between the kitchen and bathroom expanded and no longer latches. Need to move the striker plate.

Don't come home too quick, lots of rain up here.

Steve,

RW authorized Camping World in Burlington for warranty repairs on our RW and it is there now. RW has yet to appoint a dealer in western WA.

Mine is also separating. When we were at the rally I had Leonard look at it, he said they have to remove and reattach the lower skirt to fix it. I plan to have it repaired at the service e=center next summer.

I love the looks of full body paint but when I see the issues owners have with typical use of their fifth wheels, even the most minor problem can cause a major issue for repainting. Not sure the QC or technology is there yet. I'm holding out to see how the full body paint holds up over the longrun.

Did Leonard mention painting? I'd be willing to try and repair myself, but painting is above my skill level - leaves to many brush marks

Same thing here on our 2014 36FL - panel between doors. First noticed it last year and had dealership (Bretz RV) repair it but within a few months noticed separation in same spots so I applied caulking. Now that we're in Vancouver, Wa, will take to the RW dealership in the Portland area.

Our did the same thing. The dealer fixed it and we could not tell where the repair was done.

That piece of trim is actually a 'J' shaped piece & tucks in behind the lower panel 3-4". If it starts working up you can carefully tap it back down with a block of wood & recaulk.

Brad
I had mine repaired and they managed to remove the "S" lock and fix, reinstall without damaging the paint, well at least not that I can see
