I'll try again. I have been reading comments about the Marathon tires and certainly believe I need to change mine. Problem isall I can find are Goodyear tires, which I don't much care for, and two or three other tires, all of which are foreign made and shipped here to sell. I talked to a "so called guru" about tires and he said I do not HAVE TOO run trailer tires at all. He said I could run regular E series Michellins in a all weather tread and purchase steel rims, or solid aluminum rims, and have a better ride and wear. Anybody have any thoughts about this idea?

I am purchasing Sailun tires, G series, 14 ply, from Tire Kingdom. They are a trailer tire. Cost is approximately $255 per tire, mounted and balanced.

Steve, many, many folks over on the Montana Forum are running LT tires with the Michelins being the top, but also using BF Goodrich, Firestone Tansforce, and some Bridgestones. Depending on model and options, most RWs are a little heavier than the average Montana, but not by much. The problem with the ST Marathons is that there is no reserve capacity built into them, so RWs are running right at their max. LT Tires since generally made for Light to Mid duty Trucks have a large reserve and are subject to more testing as they are designed for carrying passengers vs the ST which are not. So there are options, you just have to do the research and see what works best in your situation. Because we travel a lot and run heavy, I'm planning to move up to 17.5 "H" rated tires plus changing to the MorRyde IS suspension system.

Next year if I keep this trailer I might put the same system on my trailer as well. Thanks for opening my eyes to the MorRyde.

No problem Dave. I can tell you it makes a really big difference in the ride of the rig. We used to have a few things move around in the Montana, but after the upgrade just about nothing moved and I think it even pulled easier.

Thanks Michelle & Ann,

I also looked atMorRyde's webb site. I contacted Gary at MorRyde and he sent me the info on there IS system. $2500 to $2700 for 7K and $3100 to $3300 for 8K system. Looks like this is a very good system.

I have about 2500 miles on my undersizedE rated chinese tires. Last week I noticed a large 4" bubble on the right front tire. I am not going to take any more chances.I ordered 17.5" rims and GoodyearG114 H rated tires. These are rated at 4805# at 100 PSI. At least this will give me the piece of mind that I can travel without the worryof those cheap chinese bombs.

I love mine and I run with 120 psi in them I also noticed that when I push the trailer sideways they don't look like there going to come off the rims like the E's I had on my last trailer

Well got the HiSpec 17.5 wheels with GY G114 mounted on the RW yesterday. So if anyone is thinking of upgrading to the G614s, which require different rims, I have 4 on OEM Aluminum wheels and the spare on it's steel rim, complete with center caps and lug nuts. Make me an offer
