Choices - choices. Was just informed by Redwood that they no longer make the king bed in the slide in a slide. The trimmed mattress just did not work as seen in some.

Now we have to decide - extra floor room for more cost and weight, or just the king.

FWIW, my 36RL has the regular king with a single slide.. A little more room would be nice, but definitely was not a deal breaker for us.

Piperguy,

Would you have considered the Queen in exchange for the room at the foot of the bed?

I just wonder if the Queen would be a negative if I was to sell it.

I think it's rather a personal decision. Having had a king for some time, it became a requirement for us. And if you travel with 4 legged fur kids they can sometime hog the bed. Granted the Slide-in-a-slide gives you more room, but at a cost (extra slide motors, extra air/water seals, etc.) We felt most of the time in the BR is sleeping, so we opted for comfort vs space with no regrets. Again, our personal choice.

The King bed for us was an essential, as we have had one for many years. When you add two 70 lb dogs there isn'tmuch room left on a queen for us. Yes, we give up space, but the comfort and room for fidos was the preference.

We've had king beds in the past but in our RL we have the slid-in-slide and we LOVE it. We really weren't sure about it because my wife had to give up the night stands. We bought little shelves and are very happy with the extra room.

Atom ~ we looked at both and decided that we really wanted a king as that was what we had at home. I asked RW to make a set of small shelves for me that we installed about mid way up the wall for eyeglasses and a water bottle. In my opinion, the king would be/ is a selling point.

We have a BR with the Queen since we both need a place for eye glasses and water glasses. We have a King at home but spent 6 weeks in the queen this summer with no issues. Own a 21 lb Scotty and he likes to sleep in the closet so no issues with extra room required.

King at home meant king in the trailer for full time. Easy decision for us. 10 lb Cockapoo shares the mattress space with us

Thanks all for the replies! Would anybody venture to guess what the slide in a slide contributes to weight?
