Roof Cross Members

I am looking to drill some holes through the roof.. Is there a trick to finding where the cross members are before I drill?

Called a stud finder used by the handyman not the girls
Seriously ot should work. You can also contact redwood and they can give you the spacing on the joints eg: 16" 24" also you can normally feel them when walking on the roof

Steve, that's an amazing photo! I could have used that photo when I wired scare lights on the four corners. Did you notice in the photo that the front & rear AC units ducting was not joined. This must be something new because my '12 RL has them joined. Have any more construction pictures?

I agree...that's a great picture. Any idea what the box is for just North of the rear A/C unit?

Keep in mind the picture is of a new RW with the flat roof line so I'm not sure how much else has changed.

I believe those are speakers. Probably just for stereo. RW now uses a lot of sound bars under the TV's instead of surround sound.

Yeah, that's why I was wondering about the speakers because ours has the sound bar, which is fine by me......

That is strange. As I understood, the soundbar replaced the sound system alltogether. No stereo tuner on the new ones as I understand.

When we were there shortly after the Rally, they were working on some Rushmores, possible that's a Rushmore Roof maybe??
Then again, you need a daily score card to keep up with changes.

The new units with 3 A/Cs like the one in the picture has 2 units servicing the living area, the front bedroom A/C unit has separated ducting.

............. another pet peeve of mine. High end 5er but low end "sound bar"......makes no sense to me. REAL surround sound would have been nice similar to what I had in my Cardinal that cost about half of my Redwood.

I thought to sound system in our 2012 36RL was pretty good. I don't know why they changed that system.

For those that have the speakers (before the soundbar), the best setup is to use a residential receiver and separate BD player which fit perfectly inside the cabinet. They're cheap and you can spend as much or as little as you want. This also cures the single HDMI issues.

Ours came with a nice LG surround sound system, but I'm not opposed to the sound bar either. I have those in my house with a wireless woofer and they sound good, and they are simple. I kind of have the feeling surround sound may be phasing out.

My mother in law has moved into assisted living - and the Realtor said the new buyers of her home may request that the 60" projection TV and surround sound in her basement theater be removed, as they are old technology. I grumbled because that stuff is heavy. My daughter laughed and told me to leave it there. It is a retirement community patio home so the old folks that look at it will probably think it is new technology.

Kids - they can make you feel old quick.
