Checking out our coach yesterday I had a close look at the rear ladder. Does anybody know what SWL it is rated for, as it looks like the steps are only secured by screws. Doesn't look like the steps will take much weight. Any experiences will be greatly appreciated.

We had our ladders bottom trimmed as ours extended too low to miss some grades. I have not had any issues with weight support.

I went up there with my extension ladder, I am 6'5" and weigh 290. I will not trust those screws.

I am 6'2" 290 and I went up our's. I think most of the support come from the top attachments on the roof and the brackets provide extra support and keep it secure to the back. I know I was leary but go slow and don"t bounce on it. I hope it lasts!!

I won't climb ours. I'm 300# and just won't trust it. Not to mention that if I pull them out, I'll take a beating from the wife for ruining the rig and then having to have it fixed. We already had someone rear-end us and crack the ladder. We were stopped at the toll booth paying our toll and someone rear-ends us. Thanks NJ!

I'm 250 and have been on the roof a few times. It creeks and wiggles a bit but it held !

Thanks guys, I am 260 and don't want to test it. Might send a note to RW asking for the SWL

Been on the roof many times at 265 and do walk softly. It's not my favorite place but the view is great

Do you folks ever go up there to flip the slide seals out? I have to now on my Montana every time I set up, mostly on the Kitchen slide.
If that little chore goes away on the Redwood, that would be great! Especially because I used the awning rod to flip the seals and RW won't come with one.

Dave, just because you're scrawny doesn't mean that they'll be mean to you. So what if you use the roof vent to get on the roof - just don't publish it...

We had to do that trick with our Grand Junction. So far our RW has worked well. I think the rubber seems softer?
