Unfortunately the bedroom slide roof needs replaced. It started leaking while we were home in Ohio and the trailer in Florida. The wood under the rubber is bad. The strange thing is while the light had water in it, nothing dripped on the bed.
Now my question is, does anyone know the thickness of the plywood or whatever, used on the roof? This is going to be a DIY project.
4 of 6 slide end walls were replaced at the service center the first season. They put a second layer of eternabond over the first on the outer edge. It appears that the second layer caused the 1st to come up in spots. The kitchen slide did the same. It isn't as bad as the bedroom though.
On the 2 big slides, I used 4" tape and caulked both sides.
What bothers me is in April, I washed and waxed the thing and seen nothing wrong.
Just finished my roof replacement, all but the interior trim. We had to strip it down to the joists. Luckily I was able to save the ceiling inside. There was actually standing water, under the fiberglass insulation. I was expecting to find 3/8s OSB under the Rubber, Would you believe 3/32 plywood. Unbelievable! Anybody wondering about stepping on the slide roof, DON"T.
The worst damage was at the front. It appears the leak was about 6' farther back with the water following under the outside edge forward. Now I just have to decide when and if to do the kitchen slide. Sorry, I didn't take any pictures.
