Installed Power Cord Reel

I finally got around to doing this upgrade! Even though we have a 2015, ours was built prior to Redwood including the automatic power cord reel. I purchased the same "Shoreline" reel that Redwood uses and added it. The only issue I had was making a decision on what to do with the 50 AMP power inlet on back of coach. If I pulled it out, I'm left with a hole. I decided (for the time being) to leave it there. I had a brand new 50 AMP transfer switch from a previous project on another rig, so I used that to connect the new power reel and the existing 50 amp inlet to the feed line. The picture was taken prior to my final coat of paint to the switch door and power cord access door. (lock wasn't installed yet either) I did end up boxing in the bottom of the reel underneath to prevent as much road grime as possible from accumulating on the reel.

Looks great. Should help fighting that heavy anaconda of a power cord.

You've got that right Chris. That anaconda is not fun to wrestle with, especially in cold weather

Thanks Shane. A little bit more than I really wanted to spend on this mod, but I finally just went ahead and did it. The reel alone is about $450!!!!

I'm assuming that's the switch door to the left? Very nice job! If I swing by later do you think you could do it again, same color paint.

That price is not far off for an electric power reel.

Sure thing Danny!!! Come on up to NY and we can get it installed. Yes, I used a little recessed access panel to house the switch. If I remember correctly, Redwood mounts the switch in the same place but not behind a little door.

That is awesome! It's on my list, but sounds like I have some suspension work to do first.
