Gary Wheeler at MorRyde told me the problem with the 8K axles and the SRE 4000 is the longer 2nd leaf spring on a 8K axle.
The difference between a 7K spring and the 8K spring is on the 7K spring, the second spring is shorter than the spring with the attachment loops, on the 8K spring the second spring is the same length as the spring with the attachment loops, he said the 8K second spring will have interference with the SRE 4000.

I guess Lippert didn't get the memo - because the Redwood factory Lippert (Falcon) 8K springs ALSO interfere with the Lippert (Falcon) Trailair Equaflex! I have never got this resolved other than spare parts to replace when they break.

If you pull the wet bolts in with the nut on the back side you shouldn't have any pounding/bending, at least it worked for me.

I am sorry if this is someplace else, the information gets very spread out... We are finally ready to look seriously at the SE4000--would you still tell us to move forward with it? Do you love it? We are going to get new springs also, but understand we need to stay with 7K. We are looking at Dexter springs.

We have had our SRE 4000 on for a few months now, pulled from Florida to RW Rally in Indiana, then to Florida NY, College Park MD, currently at Stone Mountain GA. Heading to down Central Florida tomorrow morning, SRE 4000 has been working great, love it.

Can you tell me what you especially love? Did you change the springs?

Did not change the springs, they are currently doing ok, we installed the MorRyde HD Shackles and the SRE 4000.
The SRE 4000 gives a much smoother ride due to more suspension travel.
Also the Trail Air Suspension unit was showing a lot of scraping and wear, the SRE 4000 shows not scraping or wear so far.
Debra follows me in my company truck when we travel, she said you can see the difference in suspension travel after installing the SRE 4000.
I can tell it is better because stuff does not move around like it used to.

Rob: I just saw your longer explanation on the other forum. Will watch the video and go through comments there also. Sure appreciate all your knowledge.

George,
Ditto to what Rob said. His explanation is correct. He helped me walk through mine and it was pretty simple providing you have all the tools. One thing I did as well was to check the ubolts for the springs. I found I could turn mine about a quarter of a turn more and then I put thread lock on the threads. In looking at my old spring hangers they showed scraping as Rob said. My plastic bushings were just starting to fray and I only have 5k on the trailer since 2013. Make sure you measure correctly to get the right setup. Good luck!

I've installed the SRE4000 and a Flex-Air pin box. However I won't be able to comment on them till later in October. One nice thing about the SRE, if you raise all wheels at once, the shackles won't flip over.

Thanks for all the feedback. We will order the Dexter Springs and SRE4000 this week. I think the better springs and SRE4000 is going to make us feel better about the suspension.
Atom Ant: Very interesting that the 8K springs don't work with the Lippert EquiFlex.

Brad, We picked up the springs today. They were $71/each. Dexter has them on their website for $88--so this is a good deal. It was a great experience. They will ship anywhere.
