grey tank problem

I have just purchased a 2013 36fl and am having a horror story with my grey tanks, both kitchen and washroom dump into galley tank with nothing coming out of grey tank when emptied, plus sinks and shower fail to drain when washing dishes or showering have to use buchet to empty and then all of a sudden will decide to let go, can any body tell me what I am doing wrong, have tried drain cleaner with no success. thankyou badd

Not sure I'm understanding - are you opening both gray tank valves to drain? And still the sink is filling up?

yes whether open or closed sinks and shower will still not drain, if both tanks are closed the galley tank will emty when pulled but the grey tank will be empty

I'm also confused. In my 38GK, the shower and kitchen goes into the galley tank. The bath sinks and clothes washer goes into the gray tank.

Perhaps you have a broken valve?

Your vent that goes through the roof may have fallen down too deep into the tank if I'm understanding that they suddenly drain. If 1 vent is not venting with both valves open once 1 tank drains it would then vent & allow second tank to drain. Just a thought!

grey tank

might be a good thought will have to get on the roof tomorrow, trailer also came with washer dryer but we had them taken out so might have something to do with the grey being empty all the time, I just filled one side of kitchen sink and let it go, it went very slow and also came back on other side, also filled bathroom sink and it emptied good. Keep the thoughts coming one of them is bound to be the problem, my thoughts are also that it is not getting air. Thankyou

I would check the little studor vents under the kitchen sink before trying too much. If the sink drains slow and backs up into the other side, it sounds like a bad vent under the sink. Fill the sink again and while it is draining, take the vent off. IF it suddenly goes down, Viola.

Any hardware store. The industry went to them many years ago because you can hide a vent just about anywhere. However, they are known to go bad just like anything else. They are about 3" tall and screw into 1 1/2" pipe. Ask someone in the plumbing department where they are. Typically in the RV's, they are in the back left corner just under the countertop and are black, normally.

sink drains down and then across through a white cylinder that I imagine stops backup instead of pea trap then continues to the back of the cupboard where it goes down and then a pipe goes up about 6 inches with which looks like a smooth cap on it, would that be it and how does it come off and what do you do once it is off, it is so far back that I can't reach it. Could this also affect why the shower and bathroom sink are not releasing water. Have tried a plunger in shower and it pushes air up through kitchen sink I also think it does same from bathroom sink

That's the rascal. Just unscrew it and replace it with a new one. You will also have one under your bathroom sink.

just try to drain it with it off before you replace it. That will tell you if you found the problem.
