We only get about four shower to the grey water tank fills. But it backs up the shower and the kitchen sink backs up. I've never had the bathroom sink back up as I've been told it's a different tank than the shower

If your hooked up to sewer leave that gray tank open til a day or 2 before draining the black. It would be helpful if you would list which RW model you have in the signature section, some models are plumbed differently.

Thanks
I open grey valve not galley and turn bath sink on and water runs out...,.
It has always done it looks like our rigs may be plumbed differently
Also every once in a while i get a sewer gas smell in hall closet or vanity if the bath fan is on
I rinse the tanks pretty carefully
And use a treatment I have read on this forum
Some folks have similar issues
Do you ever experience this?

Sorry if we old timers seem a bit evasive..........even the same model #'s and production years may be plumbed differently. All RW's i think have two grey water tanks, how they're fed are different with each coach possibly. I've had mine since 2013 and sometimes am still not sure which sink/shower/washer/dishwasher goes into what grey tank.

It is pretty weird the way Redwood plumbed but I think the reason why the bath sink goes into its own sink is because the washer drain also goes into the same tank. If you don't have a washer then it seems like it would take forever to fill that gray tank. Some of us have had luck purchasing the shutoff valve that attaches to where your sewer line hooks up to the coach. We then leave that valve closed and open both the gray tanks and let all the drains utilize the 2 tanks. You only need to do that if dry camping. If you are hooked up to sewer then leave them both open at all times until you are ready to drain the black tank, then close them, drain the black tank, rinse the black tank, close the black tank and then reopen both gray tanks.

With our 36RL, we've gone a bit longer, 2 showers and 2 loads of laundry or about 6 showers or so before dumping. We've filled up the gray tank once after a shower, when we've used the bathroom sink it fills then slowly empties into the shower tub.
We have a water regulator that restricts the water flow (about 45 PSI), maybe your showers take more water at higher pressures from the campground tap?
