FAULT message on battery indicator

On our Magnum panel that indicates battery level, we are getting a red light with a FAULT warning Here's what we are reading on the panel display: battery fault.....Hi VAC.....invert 12. volt......0 a

We read through the manual hoping to find something to indicate what this could be, but couldn't find anything.

We have no idea what to try or whether this is truly something to worry about. Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Yes, I would be worried. Do you have a good EMS?? Your note "Hi VAC" makes me think that the inverter is seeing a Hi AC Voltage, the question is it on the Input or Output side.

I would unplug and check or have the voltage at the pedestal checked to ensure it is correct. If you haven't turned on the air, tv or micro yet. Check the ped before you do. Do you have a surge protector installed. Does everything in the trailer work. All 120v plugs which are micro, tv air are they working as it may sound that you are in the trailer using it. More info would help

mhs4771 and Shane Wood.....

Thanks so much for your replies. We actually found the manual for the Magnum and it had some trouble shooting info in it. (We got so much material with our Redwood, and we had forgotten we had created a 2nd folder). It told us to unplug from the pedestal for at least 15 minutes, and then plug back in. We did it, and now there is no problem. :-)

And yes, we have a good surge protector, and we always use it. So......we'll hope this was just a quirky thing and there will be no more problems. If it acts up again, I'll come back and try to provide more information.

Thanks again!

There is a big difference between a Surge Suppressor and a good EMS, so I don't know exactly what you have. A Surge Suppressor/Guard will only protect from surges, while a good EMS will protect you from Over/Under Voltage, Surges, Open Grounds and Neutrals, and mis-wired pedestals.
What ever, glad it functioning correctly now.
