Door Track Coming Loose

The sliding pocket door between the kitchen and the bath on my 2013 36FB is coming loose. The screws holding the top track have pulled out inside the wall. The pocket has the kitchen cabinet shelves in one side and the bath cabinet above the commode on the other.

Oh course, it's the last two screws deep into the pocket. If I could remove the sliding door, my arm is too large and too short to reach to reach in that far.

Any ideas about accessing these screws?

Hope there is something better than cutting an access thru the cabinet back.

Howard

I also have the FB, but not had that problem. If I were to cut access it would be in the cabinet over the toilet.

If you have a cordless drill or impact which is easier they make flexible extensions. You may have to get a few and link together but it would work fine.
Just have to decide if $30 worth of extensions is worth not cutting a hole.
If in a cabinet... who cares but if on a wall... you could always hang a picture there after.

Is your wife's hand and arm small enough?

It's too far to reach unless someone has really long arms. Once I get in there, I'll add several more screws!!

The door it's self is pretty easy to remove. Remove the top molding on each side of the track in the door way. Then pull the door over into the closed or nearly closed position and you can see where it's attached to the track rollers, just rotate the little locking lever and you can slide the rollers out of the way and remove the door.
Be advised that those doors are heavy. I fixed mine by adding washers to the screws, because the track in aluminum and the head of the screws are some small, and the door so D.. heavy, the screws just pull thru.
Because the walls aren't real solid, I was able to wedge a piece of wood between them to allow room to reach in.
Hope this helps, been there, done that!

Door Fixed

Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions. Michelle and Ann, I was able to wedge a spacer board between the walls and could barely squeeze my arm and electric screw driver into the opening. Added two new screws with larger heads at the far end of the track. Then made a spacer that better holds the sliding door in place when traveling. I believe door movement when traveling caused the problem. It doesn't move at all now.

Thanks again all!

Howard

My RW is at Colerain's RV in Cinci with a busted closet door in the BR. RW approved a new door under warranty, and an added track(that should be an addition on all new RWs) in the bottom. With replacing these doors under warranty, you'd think RW would include a track in the bottom, to minimize movement. That being said, RW has been great dealing with problems I have had, all being minor, over the last two years. And Colerain in Cincinnati(I drive 100 miles past a local Crossroads dealer to get to Colerain) is great at doing the work.
