Has anyone had any problem with bedroom slide leaking on a 36RL? I have a 2012 36RL and cannot get the leak fixed. I have had it to the dealer twice and to the factory three times and it still leaks. Conveniently it went out of warranty in April. I have to put plastic down in order to keep carpet from getting wet. This has been very frustrating as it has leaked since day one of owning it. Scheduled to go back to factory on Thursday before rally to try again to get it fixed. Getting expensive on diesel fuel hauling it back for repair and it leaks after getting home. This is the only major problem I have had with unit. If anyone knows how to fix it please let me know. I have tried everything.

Where does the slide leak....along side seals, or top, or some place else? Is the slide going all the way in or out to compress the seals?

I also have a 2012 36RL. The only problem I have had is that last summer the slide did not want to go all the way in and if you were to go down the highway that way, it certainly would have allowed water ingress. Brian Emmons suggested using a teflon base lubricant on the tracks and that did the job. Afterwards the slide would go in all the way and the external side seals were compressed as they should be.

Sorry to hear about your problem! Sounds like you are trying every option. Without knowing where the leak is coming from, it's hard to tell you a fix. Has anyone done a leak test by running small amounts of water at different locations? One thing I do know is to spray silicon liquid onto the rubber seals around slides. Helps lubricate them and keep them flexible. Best of luck!

Leaks along one side seal at bottom. I also had talked with Brian and tried the Teflon based lube but didn't help. Factory adjusted slide, caulked and still leaks. Comes in at bottom corner near the schwinnteck system. Don't think I spelled that correctly. Leak is near front of unit.

Factory did leak test and told me it was fixed. Got home, put slide out when it was going to rain and low and behold it leaked. I just know it is getting old driving 5 1/2 hours and problem keeps occurring.

We have the 36RE (same bedroom) and I have noticed that if you look at floor level you can see daylight coming through. I have put a piece of door foam from both inside and out - no more daylight. I just have to remember to remove it before running the slide in for travel. I looked at a 2013 36RE and saw the same light shining through in the corner. I have always wondered how flying friends kept getting in, not to mention the little crawling ones. It looks like they had to leave a gap in order for the slide mechanisms to work.

Just curious if you have a washer and dryer? It seems if you can spot a leak source it can be fixed. Perhaps its coming from something else?

We did have a leak in our washer drain or our 36RL that would have got the carpet wet if I hadn't of looked at it the day we brought it home.

No, it does not come from a another source. It only leaks when it rains. I am beginning to think that the small black drain pan in the corner is the problem.

I don't have any leaks in mine as long as I get the slide all the way in. I do this by keeping the tracks sprayed with silicone spray.

Exactly where it leaks and yes they did run the motor cable thru the drain valley. My black drain valley is cracked all over. I am trying to seal up all cracks and see if it stops the leak.

I also have a 2012 36' RL with the same leaking problem and a dealer attempted repair failed as well.

Water leaks are nothing to be flippant about !
It's amazing how water can fight gravity and even go UP sometimes !
If a leak is left 'wet' for too long bad things happen.

Not sure what state you are in, but if you have your paperwork from the repairs and reported it before warranty expiration, then you have recourse.
Glad to help in anyway we can as we've been through that. good luck !

I would be calling the factory on the leak if the dealer missed the mark. Your warranty for structure is 5 years

My new 39MB has been leaking too. After last down pour carpet was soaked near bed & leaked down into hold area on slide side. Checked slide & it wasn't all the way out fully so we thought that we solved the problem. Heavy rain today & noticed carpet getting wet again. Very frustrating. Where would I look for this black "drain valley". Should I contact Redwood Warranty Dept. or dealer first if I can't solve the problem. Suggestions ?

Our 39MB leaks also. My first complaint to the dealer was seeing sunlight around the bottom of both sides of the slide. They gooped a bunch of black silicon on the inside seal. First time the slide was run out, the silicon came with it. They did it again and I think its still there. We have since been in some hard rain and the carpet on each side gets wet. I asked RW to fix it at the rally and they couldn't. Not set up to do that kind of repair at the RV park. They did tell me the slide was going out all the way. He thought the water was following the cables inside. We have the cable slide, not the gear/cog slide. Hopefully the next dealer can do something about it as its getting worse.

I see that Redwood has a new "Rainbooth" at their new manufacturing facility & wish that they used one when mine was manufactured in March. Not feeling very warm & fuzzy about my $100,000.00 + Redwood at the moment.

Knock on Wood, but so far we have not had any slide leaks on our 5 slides or wet areas around any of the slides
We did have a Roof Leak at the rear A/C Unit where they had a wire under the A/C Unit Gasket where it seals to the roof and a leak by the entry door coming from the outside A/C Receptacle due to it being bowed out and not being sealed to the side of the coach.
We have been in some real heavy rains since and not a drop or wet spot anywhere.
