Bedroom Slide Dead

THe last several months have been crazy for us. We bought a small farm in April and moved the Redwood 2013 36FB to the farm while we got the house sold and fixed up the farmhouse. Moved to the farm in July. I checked on the RW weekly. Replaced both batteries 3 weeks ago and didn't reenter after that. Daughter married Labor Day weekend. Now we are ready for a well deserved break to New Mexico!

But since replacing the battery, a rat got in there! There is some minor damage, mainly to a foam backed bath mat. While I don't see damage to wiring, the bedroom slide is dead. I retracted it in April and it hasn't moved since then. The Lippert manual refers to a 30 amp fuse but I only find a 20 amp fuse in the Breaker/fuse panel and it tests good.

There is power to the basement relay. Pressing the reset button does nothing but I assume that this function is to retract the slide and the slide is already in.

I've removed the bed deck and all the wiring looks intact.

If someone can help, what am I missing?

Howard

Off to the right of the batteries close to the hydraulic pump.you should find an online fuse holder with the 30a in it. Also on the roadside inside the basement door to the left should be a black and white square box which is the controller for your swintec slide. There should be a led light blinking red or green if you have power to it. If blinking there are instructions on it as to what code it is giving. Also go on line to Lippert LCI. They have utube videos and all kinds of info on their prodixts

Shane, I don't think a "urine" video will help his slide unless the toilets in it!! LOL! Hoping you meant "U- tube"?
You might try unplugging the control panel for 10-15 seconds & see if it resets.
Also check all electrical connections from the battery.

It's a Dirty Rat

Urine video made me laugh!

With the basement walls removed, I finally laid on my back to ponder what to try next. Looking up, I saw a tiny bit of exposed copper wire. Reaching above the heater, there it was chewed in two.

It was an easy fix from there.

Many thanks Folks! This is the best forum.

Gaining experience, one day I hope to help others.

Howard
