Battery maintenance while in storage

New RV looking for advice on the best way to maintain the two 12 volt batteries in my RV while it is in storage. Lots of solar charger out there that I have seen but not sure which is the most reliable and best for the life of the batteries. :banged: Any thoughts????

using the disconnect works SOME, but know that even with the disconnect off there is still some 'leakage' so a physical switch on one of the cables to break the circuit does best...

as far as chargers, make sure they are battery maintainers with smart charging capability to not overcharge your batteries...

good luck

I suppose it depends upon how long you're planning to store the RV. I don't have electric where I store our RW. I simply disconnect the negative cable. Otherwise, I guess I'd use a trickle charger.

I have not tried it yet but they tell me the new converters have smart chargers in them. You can just leave your coach plugged in...

I do notice that when I am plugged in for several days in my indoor unit with it plugged in, the amp gauge on the surge protector is never over 1A
