Brought our 36FL home this past weekend. While doing the PDI and orientation, we tried to figure out the purpose of a bathroom wall switch. I believe there are four switches on the plate. This switch is the first one on the left. It doesn't do anything that I can determine. The dealer thought it might be the switch for an electric ceiling fan (which we do not have). However, the kitchen ceiling fan has its own control panel so I'm skeptical that the dealer is correct. Any ideas? Thanks.

We had a similar experience, but with the bank of 4 switches located between the kitchen and living room. On further thought I believe they could be the switch for the external lights above each door.

We have 3 switches in our bathroom. 1 is for the bath room light, one is for the whit porch light and the other is for the amber porch light. When we got our FL the amber light was not connected properly. Our dealer fixed the problem

On our switch plate the two right switches are for the amber and white porch lights, the third switch from the right is the bathroom light and then there's the fourth...still a mystery.

If you pull out the switch, are their wires? I've found they add the switches for extra options like additional awnings, whether you have them or not. At least what I can see.

Our 36RE has two switches in the bathroom. One for the light, the other for the water pump.

Update...the switch is wired. It turns out that the bathroom exhaust fan's push button switch was in the off position. Turned it on and the wall switch now operates the fan. Unfortunately, since I'm not 7' tall, I'm unable to open the fan vent cover so I'm kinda' back at square one. Either I install a Maxxair fan or a vent cover. Clearly, this is an engineering/design oversight.

Cool, it clears up the mystery.

By chance was there a reach rod stashed somewhere? I had a Cardinal once that had a reach rod in the closet that you used to open the bathroom vent.

No reach rod that I can find. Sooooooo, what are folks doing for a bathroom exhaust fan?

We have had vent covers on all our RVs and wouldn't be without them. No worry if you're away with the vent open and a storm comes thru. We have the MaxxAir fans in both the Kitchen and Bath with matching Black MaxxAir vent covers.

I missed this one. I guess that's the risk of taking a unit out of dealer inventory. I'm still very surprised that RW would send a coach out of the factory without an auto fan. No one is inclined to climb a step stool every time they use the bathroom.

The fan in our RL opens automatically when we turn the fan on. Also closes whenfan is turned off or if it rains.

Our 2012 36RL is the same. I believe that both our kitchen and bathroom fansare Fantastic fans. they each have seperate thermostatically controlled operation. The fan opens automatically when called to run and closes automatically either at temperature or when rain drops start to fall.

Just a thought. You said that if you turn on the fan and leave it on, the wallswitch operates the fan. Have you tried leaving the wall switch on and operating the fan with the control panel for the fan? What does the fan coltrol look like? Our fan has a number of buttons -- open/close (we can just open the fan for ventilation without turning the fan on), set temp, + and -- to regulate the fan speed. It is exhaust only -- the fan can't be changed from drawing air in to exhaust like the ones in the kitchen and bedroom; all have rain close.

That's the problem. There is no control panel for the fan. It's a simple exhaust fan with a built-in push button on/off switch. With the fan in the "on" position, the 2-way wall switch is then capable of operating the fan. But like I said before, what's the point of that if you still need to climb a step stool to open the vent.

From your responses it appears that RW took great latitude in the type of bathroom exhaust fan that has been installed in these coaches. Is there anyone at RW that you think would be open to discussing this issue?

It used to be that you could call and talk to Brian Emmons, but he is no longer with RW. I've just been calling the Crossroads/Redwood service number and asked to speak with a tech about RW warranty issues. I've spoken with 2 so far and both have been responsive (i.e., returned calls when I left a message) and helpful.

I just got off the phone with Bill Hodge. My call was the second one in the last week voicing a concern about this design. He acknowledged the absurdity of the situation and said that be would submit these two owner experiences to Product Development. Bill suggested I install a vent cover so that I could leave the the vent open at all times...not a very good solution for colder weather. I was hoping that he would have offered to send a Maxxair fan to me at cost. No such luck.
