Hi
We are new to this site .
Picked this unit up last spring .
Last spring had a problem with Dometic 1350 fridge code E4 , seemed to go away !
Set unit up this week , fridge worked fine for 2days .
But then our problem started again , tryed to clear & re start , but continue to fail E0 then E4 .
I realized the lights on the same slide do not work properly, they have a low dim glow to bulb.
I cheated power going into fridge controls
& only got app. 10. V .
The relay trips but dose not stay closed , due to low voltage .
When I turn light switch on in that slide , we lost all power !
I realize there must be a short at this point .

My question is had anyone had this problem & where might I be able to access the wiring feed to the lights in this slide ???
I would appreciate feed balk or any suggestions.

Hello Souter, Congratulations on your new to you Redwood and welcome to the forum. We also have a 2012 36RL but have a Norcold refer in ours. Yours may have been changed out. I did find the manual for your Dometic 1350 here: https://bryantrv.com/docs2/docs/Serv...,%20RM1350.pdf

I didn't see the E4 error code in the diagnostic section. Most 12v appliances are picky about their power. I would check under the slide out room for broken or damaged wiring. I would also remove all the 12v switches carefully to look for damages there also. The wiring is inside the aluminum tubes and can get chafed damaging the insulation possibly causing the shorting out of the wiring. I know that the 110 volt wiring has a junction box located behind the left bottom drawer left of the fireplace. To remove the drawer pull the drawer most of the way out and locate the black tabs on the drawer guides, push one up and the other one down and the drawer can be removed. Not sure if 12 volt enters that same end of the slide out or not. You could also check behind the bottom drawer under the refer to see if the 12 volt connections are there instead.

Let us know what you find out.

We had a similar situation in our 2017 31SL. When we turned on the dining table light it blew the fuse, but the fuse indicator did not light. The dining light no longer came on, but all the other dining slide lights came on dimly even though the fuse was blown. The cause was a short in the dining table light circuit. They use stranded wire for the 12 Vdc circuits. A strand at the light switch connection was sticking out, and shorting to ground. The problem didn't appear until after the first time we towed and jostled things around a bit. Everything was fine once we cleared the short and replaced the fuse.

Redwood used a lot of the Dometic fridges in the early models.
