New Redwood owner

We just traded in our 2004 34' diesel pusher for a 2013 36RL. We drove from our home in Colorado to the dealer in Missoula to pick it up, so had road experience by the time we got home! We stopped in Yellowstone for a few nights before finishing the journey home, and had a wonderful time.

I can already tell we will have questions, and this group will have answers!

Congrats on your new Redwood. I'm sure you will have many great years with it. This has been a great site for me. I am still under a year with my Redwood, and like you I went from a class A to a 5th wheel, and I keep learning new things all the time.

Congratulations. I am new to the RV world and a new RV. This site has helped me out tremendously. I think I have read nearly every entry. My first trip with the RV starts tomorrow.

I was looking at Diesel pushers before I stumbled upon 5th wheels. I will be curious to know how you came about your decision to switch.

Congratulations on that 36RL!

I would be curious to hear your thoughts on the transition after you wear it for a while! We have always thought of going back the other way.

Same here Brad; if it weren't for the high (obscene) personal property taxes here in Va. I'd give a class A a hard look.

I have had 3 class A's (non of which were diesels), and really love the simplicity of my 5th wheel. All campers have their advantages and disadvantages and a person should choose which fits their camping lifestyle, but just curious why you consider going from your 5'er to a class A.

It's not really financially feasible for me to purchase a Diesel pusher at this point and while my wife & I like our new Redwood for the most part minus the sloppy installation of our bedroom slide at the factory resulting in serious leaking (appt. Nov.11 @ dealer to address this) , I've always been intrigued by Class A's.

I go back and forth. The class A was far simpler to me, fits more places, and your run around toad doesn't have to be a dually, which I hate, but it is a lot of cost and maintenance to sit in storage. When we retire a class A will probably happen.

We went from a Class A Pusher to the RW. The cost to maintain the MH and the fact that we were in one spot most of the time made the RW a better option. ITs different for different PPL but I am happy about the switch.

RWJSIM2003 we did about the same thing from pop up to trailer, gas class a and two pushers we came to the same conclusion and we haven't looked back. We are seven month seasonals and live in our RL almost ful time in those seven months.

We had a 43 FT Class A pusher and when we started to full time. We are at our home park 75% of the time and travel 25%. Even with the price tag of the RW it made more since than to maintain the MH. I already had the truck so that made the choice much easier. I would consider a pusher if I was traveling more but that is not a option right now with work.

Ya, I understand what you are saying. If I were to full time and tow the Jeep behind he Redwood, we would actually have 2 cars which would be an even better option.

I don't think I could ever fulltime, but I could sure put some miles on a MH when I retire.
