Future owners of a 2018 3821rl

We are in the process of purchasing a 2018 3821rl. Any advise or suggestions ? We will be living in our Redwood full-time. Thanks in advance.

There will be many answers - at a minimum, in my opinion, tow with a Dually, disc brakes and upgrade the suspension with MorRyde components. The IS is preferred but if not do the SRE and the heavy duty shackles and wetbolts.

Keep an eye on your springs... There have been a few people with newer Redwoods that suffered broken springs..

Like Vaughan stated, if your able to do so it would be wise to try and eliminate the issues up front.

A lot of us upgraded to the Morryde Independent Suspension, disc brakes and 17.5 tires.. IF you stay with the factory springs, at least try to up grade the shackles, and equalizer to the Morryde system ant about $400.00... You will still neeed to keep an eye on your springs.

Good Luck with your exciting, new Redwood!! We love our RL floor plan !

All ‘18 Redwoods come with Morryde SRE4100 suspension, 17.5 H rated tires and heavy duty shackles.

Are you ordering from the factory? If so definatly get the disc brakes and, if you do, check them for proper operation before leaving the dealer.

Yeah, get a dually.

If you get a generator, talk the dealer out of 40# propane tanks. Make sure you have two batteries, sometimes dealers try to cheap out on batteries.

And, of course, welcome to the ‘hood!

Welcome to the family! Personally don't think you could buy a better fulltime rv. Yea, you could spend more money, but why? Been in ours for the last 5 years with only minimal problems. Will you have problems? YES! But unless Keystone has changed the warranty since Crossroads you will be taken care of without hassle.

This is the model I've settled on as well. That said I'm a couple of years out of the point in my family and work life where this makes sense. I'm really enjoying updating my wish list on must have things such that when we pull the trigger we will order from the factory and get all the bells and whistles we need. I'm really enjoy living vicariously through this site and learning a ton. We currently have a quad bunk Jayco 29QBH that works great for ourselves and our kids. But I can't wait until the time comes and I lay down the $$$ and officially join the RW family!

Keep up the great dialogue!

Go over it with a fine tooth comb...shower bottom rail caulking ,loose trim, unplugged slide motor ,have them put a inverter remote switch on it....bought ours in june made one trip to Florida and now it in shop for about 10 items that failed...good luck...and be sure to make them show you all TV's work on local and cable and satellite found a staple in our coax in bedroom...
