Finally took delivery of our RW38GK!

Well, so far so good (if you forget about the 1st week of our trip when we drove down a street in a small town and wiped out our air conditioners with some low-lying limbs). All fixed now, and we're getting the hang of this and LOVING IT!!!! We've started on a 5-month road trip and hope to get on the forum and ask for help with suggestions of places to stay as we go. But THANK YOU all for the MANY questions I asked while researching RV's. We decided to go with Redwood largely because of this great community! I'll try to attach a picture, if I can figure out how to do it.

Congrats on your new GK. We have the same as of last October, and love it too. Very jealous of your 5 mo. adventure. How do you like your GMC pulling the RW?

Well, we did look at other trucks, but this one won out for us. My husband used to work for General Motors, so we did get a 30% discount off the MSRP price. We love it. It rides so much better than our other 1/2 ton Sierra that we had before to pull our 30' TT.

We both took early retirement, so this is our first long trip. It's so nice to just 'wander'.....not too structured except for holidays, etc. I highly recommend it!

Yeah, that's what we said. We called it a newbie mistake....and one that we're sure NOT to make again! So far everything is going well except for low water pressure everywhere we go. We're going to call about that on Monday.

Congratulations! You might want to consider attending the National Rally in August.

Congrats on your beautiful Redwood. The truck is also a great looker. This form has been most helpful with our many RW questions and should be a great resource for you. Happy RV'ing.

I'm glad to hear that everything is working out for you. We'll be in the same campground where we met over the 4th

If you have a built in water filter, check the cartridge. Ours clogs up pretty fast and drops the pressure.

I'll look in to that Oxygenics shower head....thanks. I have thick hair and this shower head isn't cutting it. As for the other faucets......ALL the water pressure is low throughout the rig.....all sinks, refrigerator, toilets, etc. The one thing my husband hasn't done is to check the main filter to the RV. Thanks for your input.

Would LOVE to attend a rally some day. Even a Good Sam rally as well. But our daughter married a Canadian and lives in Calgary. She has our only grandchildren, so we'll be up with them most of August. Thanks for the suggestion, and we'll definitely try to make it one sometime.

Don't know what I would have done without this forum and IRV2. I asked so many questions prior to our purchase, and we're really happy with our Redwood so far. I'm making a list of the little things that we need to have fixed next time we get to a dealer. No hurry on any of them tho'.

That will be our 'go to' campground whenever we're in Indiana. Norm's sister lives up there, and when we want service done we'll go back to our home dealer. When we get back through Illinois on our way home, we may look you up. Have fun over the 4th!

Tho' we'll probably never technically go full-time, we want to be gone longer than 5 months at a time. This is our longest trip so far.....each trip is a little longer than the last one. So who knows, we may just end up being 'virtual' full-timers in the end. But we down-sized our house at home and have no mortgage, so it's not likely we'll sell the house. It will give you something to look forward to. Hope it happens sooner than later for you! :-)
