Finally took delivery

Hello everyone, Well Deb and I finally took delivery of our 2014 31SL yesterday from McGeorge Rolling Hills RV in Ashland VA. We purchased the trailer back on 10/26/13 and they held it for us until we got the truck broke in and our schedules allowed us to go get her. I have read many, many threads about the PDI and the delivery process and I have to say McGeorge's really made the process easy. When we arrived we found the trailer had been pulled out several days prior and the entire trailer and all systems had been tested and inspected. The gentleman performing our PDI with us knew everything about the trailer and all of it's various systems. The dealer used a PDI checklist very similar to the one from the RV.net website, very thorough. The trailer was very clean, all systems operational and of the minor items we found, they repaired immediately. It was an easy, stress free evolution.
An additional Kudo to the dealership and our salesman "Doc" because when we purchased the trailer they had assured me it had a heat pump in the main unit, when in fact it did not and on one of my previous visits I brought it up to my salesman. When we arrived, first thing the salesman did was explain that they verified the unit did not have the heat pump, did not have one in stock and went to another RW unit on the lot and took the heat pump from it and installed the heat pump and thermostat on out unit. I can't tell you how much that meant to us and it really set the tone for the rest of the day.

Hope I didn't bore anyone, but we are so happy to take delivery and be members of the Redwood family.

Take Care

Glad to hear the PDI went well. Hope you get that coach out and enjoy it. Ours is still just a PO, no VIN # yet. Messes up my sleep (the waiting).

Thanks to everyone. I think my wife has already put a ton of stuff in it. Hoping this RW is as solid as our 04 Carriage was. Now we wait for the weather and our work schedules to align....

Congrats on your new coach! We have a 2014 31SL at the dealer getting ready for us. We're getting impatient, not with the dealer but from the camping dryspell. We're weekend/vacationers now, but think the RW will still be in top shape for full-timing many years from now.

Appreciating all of the great info on the forum. We've been rving for 20 years starting with tent-camping, but learning more with each new coach. We warned our dealer to expect us to spend lots of time on the PDI.

Thumbs up

Congrats on your new RW.
We have our PDI with McGeorge on the 14th. We worked with Taz and Doc during our dealings with the dealership and have been very pleased with them up to this point.
We met the young man in the service department this summer and were very impressed with his enthusiastic attitude about the Redwood products. He helped us make the final decision to purchase the RW. He is supposed to go through the unit with us this week.
We're getting the 36RL with all the goodies and hope to be full-timing real soon.

Have fun with your new acquisition and hopefully, we'll meet in the future.

We're headed south as soon as possible! Although, the cold may not be any better down there.

Safe travels
George and Kay

George & Kay,

When coming South also head West. We spent 3 weeks in Indio when it was mid to high 70's. We have just arrived in Mesa and it was mid 80's today, with low 90's forecast on the weekend.

Very comfortable.

Thanks for asking. Our PDI could be considered a success.
We found a few minor things and those were corrected before we left the dealer's lot.
Right now, we're in a campground to use every system before we leave permanently.
The people at McGeorge were great to work with and really took an interest in our complete satisfaction. Nice to see a company give you small company customer care when they are a large organization.
Both of us are happy with the new RW. We're so excited to get rolling.

Safe travels.
