The larger drum brakes are new this year I am told. I have them on my 2018 3901 MB and find them to be very effective. I am by choice a disc brake fan, and they will no doubt be better, but I stop very well with the drums. I also find the LRE 4100 to be a very good ride, one day when I have extra money I may go disc and independent, they are definitely improvements. But what comes on them new now is not shabby.

I would add the disc brakes to the order. Definitely worth it and cheaper to do it now at the build.
