given the only choice at the time for us was King or Queen-slide-in-slide, we when King. We would miss the king because we had it before, but figured we wouldn't miss the slide in slide if we never had it anyway.

Leonard our rep was so cool - When we insisted we saw a King slide in slide that was a king mattress chopped down at the head to fit in the queen hole, he just said "yes, we did make them and if you really want one I will do it, but let's just say it wasn't a solution to the problem". That was all it took for us to not insist.

We are hopefully trade our 2012 36RE for 2014 38RE at one of the Texas shows this year. Will see how willing they are to trade a RW for a RW.

Just saw the MB floor plan on the RW site. Interesting, but we are still sold on the GK. What we like about it is the double pantry, large shower, placement of the laundry center, RL style living space, storage behind the LR TV, 2nd vanity in BR, outdoor TV space behind the dining cabinet.
Question: it looks from the new posted floor-plans RW has done away with the slide-in-slide. Can anyone confirm that?

I've heard that the rear entertainment will give you neck problems because you are not facing the system directly. What have you experienced?

If it is positive, that would open up more floor plans for us.

Thanks!

Johnboy - we made a similar trade off with the 36 FL. We have to turn sideways to go up the side of the bed and are walking over dogs at the foot of the bed, but the living areas of the coach have great space.

We are quickly learning that almost everything in an RV is a trade off.

We have not had any neck problems with the 55" TV across the back. I would not give it up. That is why, if we trade, it will be another RE.

Agree, so far, we can all still get what we like

our previous 5er had the rear tv with an elevator lift so we could have the tv or the big picture window in the back... but it wasn't the best for viewing unless I pulled the recliners out to the middle - it's all what you're used to

And Oriana - you cruel master - let them in the bed !!!!

Johnboy - only problem is they aren't wee dogs - one is a lab and the other is a GSD, both over 70 lbs. Even with a King just ain't enough room. Guess DW & I could use the dog beds on the floor.

Andy,

We have a couple of Corgi's (the Queens dogs), there is a bed for them on the floor in the closet...just the right size!

Our favorite was a white female lab we lost 3 years ago - Great dog !
she would do ANYTHING to please us -
and I'm glad cuz her dad was 140 lbs and she was 110 lb of fury

Said I would never get another that one affected the family so much,
but then one snowy morning in Dallas, this was found sleeping on the front porch - MAYBE 6 lbs at the time and now 65 lbs of pure muscle !

Well I found a dealer a little closer then Dallas and I made a trip to see they camper it is a beautiful floor plan but I have to agree with what some others said about the half bath its is kind of a wasted space. So we looked a a few others they had we havent made up our mind yet.

I would ask them direct. You probably wouldn't get an unbias answer on the open forum.

Pro - Redwood

Con - SOB

Take the time to read through the posts in this forum and the other forum, and you will get a good idea why most of us are extremely happy with our Redwoods. Any RV can have problems, so look for warranty coverage and how the company stands by their products.

Sammie1, I do have a Cardinal at this time and I have been looking at the RW, pros and cons. In my experience everything has them. I love my cardinal it is well built I have about 33k miles on it and I havent had a single problem. Reading these forums I see that the RW hasnt had problems with this kind of milage. The biggest pros I have found so far with the RW is the size of the showers the size of the bath rooms them selves, the cardinals and RW from what I have seen as for quality seen to be very close cabinets, and such seem to very well built. I like a heavy camper as I pull with a 2009 Ford F-450 I dont worry about weight. I have been told because of the heaviness of the RW side wind isnt a problem on the road and when set up the movement inside the camper isnt as bad when people move around. My honest opinion is when I do get another RV I am about 95% sure it will be a RW unless Cardinal comes out with new floorplan.

We looked at the Cardinals as well. It appears they are upgrading their line to compete more closely with RW. For our needs, the floor plans all had major compromises for us. They do make a very nice unit, but until they upgrade their warranty to 2+5, I would not consider them even though they are a bit more affordable. We will be ordering our RW 38GK later this year.

I looked at Cardinal as well before deciding to go with RW. Hard to point out exactly what made me decide but the Cardinal felt a bit cheaper, the feeling was not there. I also think that what I have read about the service provided by RW after you take delivery and there is a problem means a lot.

When reading about in example DRV their customer seems to have to fight much more with a more bureaucratic organization while RW seems to be more flexible.

But that is yet to be determined! Small details, and many small details becomes a feeling and for me Cardinal just don't give you the right vibes if you are going to spend so much time in your unit as we plan.
