Brad - that's when I still had the Mustang.

Now there is an idea for Dory, rather than a Fusion or Expedition - how about the new Mustang GT, which I believe have increased from the 300HP I had to about 430HP

And THAT would be all kinds of fun in the snow ! I had a 2003 Mustang GT Ragtop that was hands down the most helpless car in snow I have ever owned. Took it one time to an event during the winter that was about 50 miles from home - was no forecast of snow and I thought it was a good time to exercise it. Wrong !!
Snowed about 1" and it took me almost 3 hours to get home. I wound up stopping at a Home Depot and buying as many bags of concrete mix that would fit in the trunk. Even with that it was marginally helpless.

Ahhh, the memories ......

I've been trying to talk her into a Mustang convertible for years, even rented one in Hawaii. Problem is it would be another limited use vehicle hogging space in the garage like the Truck!

It didn't help anything that the neighbors got stuck in the frozen gutter last year and it took two neighbors to rock it out. Not a bit of snow on the ground, just ice in the gutter

Brad - Certainly useless in the snow, but tons of fun in your couple of months of summer.

I saw a guy this past weekend that said his new GT is around 430hp.

Jerry - Ford increased all the Mustangs, even the V-6 now has 300 HP, which is consistent with my old 2006 GT. I believe the Shelby/Cobra is now about 550 HP.

Just scary numbers.

Brad, buy her a 08-10 super duty and do the delete & tune , my 08 dually was 500+ on the ground ( # from the DYNO) tire smoke, but very little exhaust smoke. Too much fun when some smart a-- kid needed to be put intheir place with their ying ying car.

I heard you could tune the 6.4 to kick the 6.7 butt, but just traded our troublesome 08. Don't think she would consider another.

And getting around the EPA idjuts and warranty concerns

They stopped some companies from selling for the newer 6.7's

You can tune the trucks to do about anything but then you have to worry about the drive train as well. There's a local Ford dealer here that works with the tuned trucks. He said he'd cover the transmission warranty even if we were doing tractor pulls. He warns people that the new fords transmissions (2011-2014) will handle up to, but not exceed 1000 ft pounds of torque.

Although my tuner will run up to 200 additional pounds of torque I have mine set at 80. I do have a little extra exhaust but only on heavy acceleration. At 880 ft pounds of torque is doesn't slow down much on the hills and I no longer run the diesel exhaust fluid or waist fuel during regenerations.

Oh I wasn't trying to prove a point- just thought it was a fun video.

I never have nor probably never will tune a truck. I seem to have plenty of zoom.
