They have a 2016 38RL on the lot with most of the options we choose, but it's an early 16 without the upgrades (aluminium steps, waste mgmt, energy mgmt, straight line roof, Jensen surround sound, stainless 60/40 sink, etc)

Your collective suggestions on the forum helped us with several options above/beyond the normal "glitzy" stuff. Assuming the pricing comes back within reason compared to the stock 2016, we should be more than prospective owners soon.

Options we selected beyond the mandatory ones are:
1) 8k axles with "H" rated tires
2) Onan LP gen set
3) 2 Max's fans
4) king bed slide in slide
5) disc brakes
6) water filtration
7) trail air pin box
8) 40 lb bottles
9) 2nd power awning w/LEDs
10) power cord reel

We also discovered we can delete the factory furniture for a savings and order La-z-boy recliners and sleeper sofa custom to fit/match.

We passed on:

1) Unigard Awning upgrade
2) Slide awning package
3) 3rd A/C
4) Electric Induction Cooktop
5) theater seating
6) washer/dryer
7) wireless backup camera, will have in 2017 F-350 cab screen
8) Holding tank heating pads, half timers, not full timers

Thoughts and feedback welcomed before we make a final decision
Kevin
I would personally ad the following
Unigaurd to keep the sun off the awnings when rolled up
3rd ac. Our 2 ac's run steady when the temps are in the high 90,s. Also the bedroom is warmer that the rest of the trailer the way they are plumbed.
Heat pads on tanks definately you never know where you will be when cold weather sets in
Washer and dryer definately.
The DW did not want one at first but after having it would never be without
Back up camera I am going to install one. A hardwired would be alot easier to have the factory do it

Well, it's official, we made our final negotiations today on our new 38RL. We decided to go with the dealer stock unit and negotiated some upgrades added by the dealer as opposed to ordering a 2017 with everything we wanted.

I know we can't discuss price here, but it basically came down to the dealer being highly motivated to move this unit that had 95% of the options we wanted for 5 figures less than the factory ordered selections. Dealer is installing the Onan Gen, Waste mgmt system, and Aluminum steps as part of the deal.

This ROG forum has been invaluable during the decision making process, so we were much better informed buyers. Thanks to you all.

Will start a new thread with a request for advice on a hitch.

See you out there on the road soon. Safe travels.

No decision required, go with the B&W turnover with Companion 5th wheel, you won't be sorry.
