Pre owned concern

went to the dealer today to finalize on a preowned 38gk its a 2016 it had not been cleaned yet as it had just came in. only reason i walked back through was to show the wife and kids what i would be living in while at work. i noticed there was a spot on the carpet between the bed and the night stand upon closer inspection it appears to be water damage. i walked around the coach and noticed that one of the slide rubbers that rest against the slide was flipped in. Do yall think that could have done it or would that be unrelated. they assured me they would make everything right but now Im nervous its a 2016 and can buy considerably less than new. Help me make a decision please

If they will repair ALL of your concerns in a reasonable (reasonable to you not them) amount of time then I'd say go ahead, if it takes weeks or months to fix, walk away.

Since it's a 2016 is there any warranty left? May take a little worry out if there was a few months of warranty leftover.

according to explore usa seguin the RW two year will not transfer but they are (throwing in) a 3 year preferred rv select warranty for whatever thats worth. ive owned trailers before and am pretty handy but hate to pay that kind of money for something to work on allegedly they will let me be there when they pull the carpet back so i can see the damage before repair do yall think it could be from the slide rubber being flipped

I'm not sure Exploreusa is telling you the right thing. I believe when Redwood dropped the 2/5 warranty and went with just a 2 year warranty it is transferrable with a fee. I would call Crossroads Customer Service to get the reading on that. I think I even saw on the Redwood website that the warranty is transferrable.

Even with the seal flipped they still seam to make a good seal and should keep rain out but if the dealer power washed it they may have made it leak otherwise my guess is it may be from another source.
If my memory is correct RW offers (or at least last year they were) a transferable warranty for a $250 charge. Your dealer should through that in.

Thank yall for the info. I am going back in the morning to decide if i want to move forward. Problem is I have zero trust in anyone that makes a living as a sales person. I sold cars before and can personally say its not a friendly business. I am going to do some research on the RW warranty for sure. Thanks again

Make the dealership pay for the the transfer fee along with the 3 year warranty as part of the deal. That should cover you all the way around.

As far as Service at Seguin, they are pretty decent. Warranty work takes some time, but they do like to please their customers.

Thank you S&K I was wondering how they were to deal with. It seems as if Explore doesnt have a very good rep online. My office manager has a 2015 Landmark 365 and we had somewhat of a difficult time getting warranty work done at the fort worth location.

It's true that Explore USA has issues with service at some locations, but this has not been our experience with Seguin. Amanda is your point person in service. Tell her I sent ya! ; )

a 2016 for sure has a balance of warranty on it. As long as you are the 2nd owner it is transferable.I just did it on a 2015 GK. And the kicker was the $250.00 required for the transfer was refunded to me as Crossroads is now a part of Keystone and thay do not charge for this service so i got a check back for the $250.00. . So try to find out who had the unit prior and get them to sign the form so you can send it. And also keep the dealer provided warranty also double coverage. LOL

Wayne - different topic and I'll hijack the thread for a moment - are you still on track to get the Fuel Injectd Onan and a fuel tank installs just before the Rally ?
I'm really looking forward to seeing that setup. I'll provide an adult beverage with the conversation .........

the warranty at explore is if you bring it to their dealership and park it for say 5 to 8 weeks they get to it eventually

my experience

it is a service agreement

if it messes up on the road away from their network you must call a mobile repair guy pay for the service call and a deductable

say 800 bucks

i fixed everything on my own i was "po" bout that service aggreement bs as i am living full time and working 7 days out of town.

read service agrreement before signing

just my 2 cents

Well. Explore insisted that the issue I pointed out really isn't an issue.A. They weren't willing to deal any more on the price
B. I told them I would give them a final answer the next day and they tried to get pushy in a text an hour later in a text
C. Told them to mail my deposit back. I was done

Oh. And they insisted that the warranty would only transfer on a newer model 2016

The search continues. Thanks everyone for the help!
