I guess it depends on how big your bank account is....LOL. I can afford the Redwood and for us the value of the unit and our bank account are ok. But, those who are willing to put a million or half a million into an RV are out of my price range. No insults intended...,I can't imagine spending a million on a motor home, but that's reflective of our income.

Everybody sets their priorities different. If I had my way, I'd sell the house and go full time when we retire but the wife wants a new home for retirement instead. At least the RV doesn't have property taxes so I'm ok with spending extra for the luxury and comfort.

We have excise tax in Indiana to the tune of $1800.00 a year! So it's not called property tax, but it's road tax! Ugh!

Taxes just kill me....we pay around $1300 per month. In Illinois we have the best politians money can buy. That's why we can't carry guns when we visit prisons..... I guess they're afraid we'd shoot our former governors.

I noticed the same as Brad, the same suppliers as all the others just wrapped in a gorgeous wrapper. Are they built in Texas, thougt it looked like Tx license plate?

Yep...they're built in Indiana There are only a few suppliers of the awnings and other items. But the substructure like the plumbing, electrical, suspension, insulation and many others makes all the difference.

If this wasn't true, we'd all be pulling 40k trailers

I visited the Continental Coach booth at the Tampa show last year and they had a picture out front with one of their coaches hooked to a 1 Ton Dually, the rest of the pictures had HDT Trucks hooked to them.
I asked the rep and he said that was an actual customer picture with one of their smaller coaches and he was at the limit of the 1 Ton.

They are awesome coaches and very well built, but they are heavy.

In the video, the guy was boasting about all the cargo doors. But since most of the doors had equipment behind them, there wasn't much more storage than the RW!

It's got a great security feature when you leave it to get supplies.

I guess that qualifies for "castle on wheels". I think it's kind of cool that someone can build something like that and have it work out. There are several videos on line of this type of trailer being built that my son has shown me.
