Just looking for feedback on this topic.

We plan to order a 31SL by the end of February. I can appreciate the odd issues with the redwood but the one issue that really concerns me is the excessive heat being reported whichis coming from the front closet (sun exposure to front cap). I spoke to redwood and they are working on a possible solution. The aerodynamic front cap limits the amount of insulation they can put in and they have not yet decided on what to do if any at this time. To all of you folks, I’m curious to find out how bad this problem is for you and is it a serious inconvenience to you? Thank you!

We have a 36RL and have noticed that it's a bit warmer in the closet than the bedroom during the summer months and cooler in the winter months. We have two AC units and during the hot weather with both blowing cold air, the closet heat has not been a problem. There is a noticeable temp difference but not enough to ruin your day. If the closet door is kept closed it's no big deal. No need to worry about your shoes melting.

We have a 36FL and there is a difference in temperature from our front living room to the kitchen to the bedroom. We adjusted the vents and purchased a small fan to circulate the air from the kitchen to the living room and that really made a difference. We have 2 AC units with heat pumps, our coach is always comfortable but due to the front cap temperature difference the living room is a few degrees warmer than the rest of the coach. All in all, no big deal.I just add more ice to my bourbon.

We agree with Grandpa's post above. It is a closet after all (at least with the RLs, REs, & FBs)keep the doors closed and not a problem. With both ACs running we were able to keep the inside temp in the lower 70s with outside temp in the mid 90s. Without the ACs running there is very little difference in temps between the closet and the bedroom.

I have the 31sl and camped in the unit when it was 90+here in CA. The front closet was warmer than in the bedroom, but it did not prevent us from getting a comfortable temp in the unit with 2 ACs. We generally keep the closet closed.

We have the 36FL also and like Coljdm mentioned, the living room is usually a coule of degrees warmer than the rest of the trailer...heat rises after all. We too use a small fan to help circulate the air but we also point one of the a/c vents at the television because it generates a lot of heat.. it seems to help.
As far as our closets go, they are in the slide out so they are colder in cool weather and warmer in warm, sunny weather. No big deal since we keep the doors closed most of the day.
These aren't stick built homes so comparing their thermal performances is apples to oranges.
