Disc brake option?

Hi

Just noticed RW online for 2016 options a disc brake upgrade. Not sure of cost
Has anyone done the investment for a new purchase.
Really needed?
Have not seen any on dealer lots

Thx

That is an option that you normally will not see on the lots... Most dealers order in for a certain price point... I have towed both with them, and with out them, my take is They are an absolute wonderful upgrade and worth every penny... BUT...
Check the cost when ordering, Ron ( Titan Guy ) he sells (will ship to you in included) and installes depending on your location for a real great price.

I think his special Redwood pricing is about $1800.00 for the kit plus install.. I believe I saw that if you go to the National rally , he is running a special for $2600.00 complete ?? Or somewhere around there..

So if your ordering new , and your price is over $2800.00 Or so , think about Rons system made by Titan Industries . .

I ordered mine from the factory. Take the list price and discount it by the percentage that they discount the entire trailer to give you the real cost that you pay.

I think that you will find it competitive

$ 2450.00 if you're a ROG member. Hope this helps.

Would NOT pull a heavy RV without Disc Brakes! And I put RWs in the heavy class.
And if ordering one of the larger RWs, consider the 8K axles with 17.5" H tires.

My replacement 31SL just came in! Even though it is the lightest RW, I still ordered it with Disc Brakes, 8000 lb axles and 17.5 wheels with the H tires.

I believe you said when you ordered yours they put the wrong labels for the GVW and Tires on it. They also caused me to panic as I looked at the labels and thought it was built incorrectly. Not the case. The just overnighted the new labels.....

I sell the Titan Disc Brake System and regardless of what system you buy, the investment in disc brakes is easily paid back in a single emergency stopping event.

Even smaller trailer towed by lighter GCWR tow vehicles need this option. O.E. installed or aftermarket installed, they are the same system.

I was delighted to see the disk brakes as an option back when we ordered ours - as well as heavier axles and tires. I loaded it up on options and love the disk brakes!

I actually spotted them on a RW on the lot, and the Dealer thought I was full of BS. We started poking around and found the actuator, then he found it on the option sheet.

My 2015 38 RL was ordered with discs from the factory. I like them a lot and I'm glad I bit the bullet!

Option is $3,000+ after discount abt $2500. Yes it is worth every penny. The rally special price for the aftermarket system is $2450.
Regardless whose system you go with, spend the money you will never regret it

Ron's installers just put the Titan Disc brakes on mine yesterday and now I'm anxious to take a trip and make them work.

I put Ron's brakes on ours. Have not had a chance to hook up and test yet, but come on!! They are damn nice to just look at. I think I will leave the tires off and just let her sit there looking good !!

Another believer here. Just returned from my first long trip (2200 miles) since I installed the brakes I got from Ron. It was a night and day difference when it came time to stop. I wish I would have done it sooner. Thanks Ron!

I recently had the front end aligned and tires rotated on my GMC 3500HD and got a chance to take a good look at the front disc brake rotors on my truck, to my surprise the front rotors were black from heat of several hard / long grade stops with my Redwood pushing me.
Now I am working with Ron to get the Disc Brakes installed on my Redwood at the National Rally in August.
I have the ability, knowledge and tools to do it myself but due to my travel schedule finding the time to do it myself is tough plus watching / monitoring and learning from a team that has done this upgrade before will be well worth the labor investment IMHO.

That picture definitely needs to be in one of those black picture frames by your stairs!

Now that Ron knows we not only like how they stop, but how they look as well, he should consider a high performance line with anodized calipers and steel braided hoses
