Hi Everyone,

We are looking to order our Redwood 38BR (hopefully) sometime in June 2013. How long did it take to get your unit after the order was placed? Unfortunately, Ted has limited vacation flexibility and we would need to plan out a vacations to order and one to pick up. (Hoping to ditch this problem within 2 - 3 Years!!) We are planning on using Lazy Days in Tampa. We went there last year to browse units and their customer service was great.

We definitely want full body paint which I know takes more time. We'd love to hear the experiences of the forum.

Thanks!!
Suzy & Ted

Hi Suzy & Ted:

We ordered our 36rl from Lazydays in Tampa mid-August. We accepted the unit for delivery on Oct 3, but we didn't get body paint. It was also the "end of the season" so it was delivered more quickly than other times of the year. We didn't go down to Lazydays at all prior to delivery. We looked at units locally (VT, MA) and spent a lot of time imagining living in various models to see how they "felt". We also knew from our prior unit (a mid-90's single slide we bought to try out rving) some things we definitely did and did not want. Once we decided on a floorplan, we worked up a list of the options we wanted and filled out a "spec sheet". FYI, all available options are not listed in the brochure, on RW's web site or on the spec sheet. Weemailed it to 5 or 6 dealers who those on the forum seemed to have had good luck with and were pleased with, both locally and in the midwest and along the east coast to get bids. We just let them compete with one another for 2 or 3 days.We were ready to buy locally when Tony from Lazydays, who I'd been in touch with earlier this year, called. We told him what we'd gotten for bids and he beat the best deal by $6,000 (initial quotes were in an $18,000 range, highest to lowest). Tony offered us a deal we couldn't refuse -- even considering the 1400 mile trip to pick it up. Everything prior to delivery was done by email and phone. Everything went very smoothly. Lazydays was great to work with. Hilton, the RW rep there was very helpful with any questions Tony couldn't answer. Tony was far better informed about the RW than any other dealer we talked to (I knew more about the units than they did -- not very reassuring to say the least). We wouldn't hesitate to do it again this way. Don't know how far you are from Lazydays, but imho, I don't think you need to plan 2 vacations, one to order and a second to pick up your new unit.

Thanks for responding so quickly, Marty & Suzanne.
You stated you received the unit on Oct 3, when did you place the order with Lazy Days?

You are probably right that we could order by phone with Lazy Days after completing a spec sheet. We have not been able to actually walk through a 38BR. I have seen almost all of the other models but not this one.

THANKS!!
Suzy & Ted

Our 36RL took 2 1/2 months this past spring. Ordered thru Lazy Days in mid Feb and unit arrived right at the end of April. What ever you do if you deal with Lazy Days in Tampa, don't use Bob Michele or Scott Hamilton as they are the worst (they normally deal with the $250K and up MHs), so I don't know how we got stuck with them. But we never got any answers to questions and had some minor screw-up with I order. So if they suggest either of them, do yourself a favor and ask for someone else.

TwoMuttToo We too bought from Lazydays in Tampa Fl. Flew down 1st week of April to look at the 39HH didn't like the way the garage was so we ordered a 36FL. At that time we were told that it would be about 8 to 10 weeks for delivery. Told them that we would like to take delivery July 1st (our vacation time). Lazy Days told us it would be ready when we got there. Our salesperson was Jim Pelosi. Very nice person to deal with returning all our emails and phone calls. They really treated us very nice there. I think most dealers will work with you on you delivery day. Just make sure you order early enough so it can be delivered to dealer on time. Sometimes it may be ready to for delivery but the trucks delivering may be backed up delaying delivery to dealer in early spring. This happened to us. Dealer was scrambling to get our coach to dealer on time. So I would allow 2 to 3 weeks extra just in case. Easier to have it setting at dealers lot for a couple weeks then screwing up delivery date.

Thanks for all the replies and the recommendations of Sales people. When we visited Lazy Days, we were impressed by their customer service and the way they deliver the unit by being able to stay over night and play with everything.

I think we'll make it a weekend trip to order and then drive down for pickup.

THANKS!!
Suzy and Ted

Thats what we did. And it worked out great. One thing, you need to stay on them to make sure its prepped for when you want to pick up and not rushed. The other thing that they dont tell you is, If you get the washer and dryer you wont be able to run them because they do not have full hookups in there delivery lot. So if you need to do a couple loads of wash to test them your going to fill up your gray in a hurry. We asked to go over to the campground so we could run everything completely. WE had to do a couple loads of laundry. We stayed 3 days made a list. When they came in monday morning we towed it over and gave them the short list and we were on our way north by 5 pm that afternoon.
