I made an appointment to balance my tires on Monday. I'm going to use the silicon sand. I put this in my dually and it's worked out well. It's my understanding, there are several different methods to balance the tires.

#1 typical weights ( may fall off)
#2 powder (not recommended for tires that aren't used much due to condensation, turns powder to rock)
#3 the silicon sand (about the same as powder but wont turn to rock with moisture)
#4 ceramic beads (most claim this to be the best)
#5 liquid (will freeze in the north)

I wounder how some of these will effect pressure sensors.

Anyone have experience with Kenda F rated tires in our size which are rated for 3920 lbs load. They claim to be made in Taiwan and have a two year warranty. $209 from eTrailer with free shipping.

Not sure what is going on with this tire but the tire manufacturer does not set load capacity, The Tire & Rim Assn does this. The approved Load capacity of a 235/85R16 F tire is 3415 lbs at 95 psi. There is something wrong. In a 235/85R16 I am a fan of the load range E Michelin XPS Rib and Bridgestone R250, The Goodyear G614 in LR G. All of these have an all steel casing and are built like heavy duty truck tires.

Got the h rated tires and wheel on yesterday. Those things weigh a ton. Nice being able to lift the rig to install. Did my wet bolts and wheel bearings at the same time. A little anti-seize and a 1/2 torque wrench did the trick. I'm whooped over after torquing down 32 lug nuts. More piece of mind now.

Oh wow, those are super looking wheels!! Thanks for the pic! For some reason I thought the selection was very limited on the 17.5, more like the Alcoa look.

And equally sexy wheel covers, go nice with your paint scheme!

Thanks everyone. I had quite a few choices, but think these match the paint scheme better. The covers were a nice pickup, match pretty close. Makes me want to get my truck painted to match and some wheels to match. Where will it end?

We have to get our wives together so Ginny can convert her. The more toys I have the better Ginny is treated.
