Good point. I've never really come across that problem but most of the time I leave my gray tanks open.

We don't leave our tanks open as it tends to dry out the rubber seals on the gate valves.

I'm planing on moving my bulk head wall back and utilizing more of the pace under there. When I do I'm planing on putting the manifold and water filter on the new wall I build

I have put toilet chemical in my galley tank to help clean it out. That tank can really stink sometimes.

Got that right. If you're not careful, those grey tanks can end up with an odor a lot worse than the black tank.

We've never had grey water odors, but maybe because we gave this a try?

We ordered one and received it last week. On sale for about $200 and that included delivery. It arrives all primed with salt and ready to go. Just flush for 2 minutes and plug it into the supply line.

Nice soft water, just like at home.

This is also what I have been using for the grey tanks and it has worked well for 2 1/2 years.

I went to Home Depot with the old filter and purchased a replacement making sure the replacement filter was the same size, same diameter holes, etc. Been using the replacements for over a year with no issues.

I have found that size of filter just about anywhere, and several namebrands. You just need to decide what you are trying to filter out and purchase the correct one.
