Waste Master Installation - Beware!

If you're planning on installing one of the Waste Master cam lock set ups on your RW, (before you glue the fitting on!!!!) make sure you lock each lever down one at a time to make sure it will pull the cap or the hose in tight against the seal and is not defective... Ask me how I know!

Was the rubber gasket in the hose missing so it would not seal. Or did the cams not pull it in tight enough

I wish it was the gasket. No ione of the levers is defective and won't pull it in tight.

That's not good. I glued my cam lock to a short clear piece that twist on to the sewer pipe. Also have other adapters if I decide to install permanent to the trailer

Hmm.....I ordered it and it's been sitting in the basement waiting for me to install it. Was planning on doing it later today. Is there a way to check this before I cut the pieces off the bayonet fitting ?

Now I'm a little nervous about doing it.....

Just verify by inserting the cap in the fitting and locking one lever at a time. You should not be able to rotate the cap with either lever locked. In my case with one of the levers locked I could rotate the cap and it was even loose. So basically it would have been only contacting the seal on one side which it would have leaked... You just want to check it before you glue it on!

Thanks. Just opened the box to check. Mine locks fine. No rotation at all with only one lever locked. It was difficult to pull the cap out initially, had to tap it out with a hammer and the handle end of a screwdriver. I'm going to install it later today.

Seems to be a good system but I didn't purchase the extension hose....yet anyway, really pricey. I did get the bayonet adapter that works with the cam lock just in case I was ever in a spot where the hose wasn't long enough. I figured I could use my old hose in that case. Not really thrilled about still taking it with us though.

Perfect! That is what you want for a tight seal.

a suggestion....When you glue the part with the 2 levers position them at say 11 and 5 and i put mine at 9 and 3 with the jacks down. Now when my jacks are up the round landing gear pad inter fears with the left side lever. It works but you have to mess with it.

My locks came from the factory at 9&3, no issues with the jack pad. I will look again tomorrow but I was thinking the jack is behind the line coming out.
