We have the Swagmen two bike carrier with the fold down arms, for the tires to rest in(from our old unit). There was no clearance, between the first bike and the ladder and the handle barmight have hit thetrailer, in travel.I ordered a 8 inch extension and had it welded in place, to make it solid as therewas a lot of movement, between the factory hitch and the extension.
We got both from Amazon.

The redwood site, shows a bike on there unit, but if you notice, that trailer does not have a ladder.

We have about the same setup and had to buy the extension before we could leave the dealership (we were living in our Montana so had to move everything over, including the bikes) before we could leave Florida for Western New York. Have not welded the extension, but did buy the clamp assy offered by CW to take the play out of the setup.
Getting ready to put everything back in and on as by next month we'll be heading South again.Edited by: mhs4771

We carried 4 bikes over 9200 miles on the standard hitch provided with our redwood coach (3FL). We purchased our 4 bike carrier from Camping World. We used a half dozen bungy cords and mounted the bikes right side up and up side down and had no issues during the entire trip, other than only used the bikes twice!!!

Thanks everyone for your input, we ordered one from CW but will probably need the extension.
