The Ribs aren't a high enough load capacity for your rig. All Redwoods have at least 7,000 lb axles, which require a tire rated for at least 3,500 lbs. Ribs are only 3,040 lbs.

I hear a lot of Saline, but have never really seen them. I understand they are not a US tire. For me I let others try them out and I'll watch.

Salin or Saleen are made in China. Probably a good reason they are cheaper than Goodyear or Michelin. Check out the stories on other RV Forums.

Personally, I wouldn't even consider them.

If you want to do some work check out other RV Forums and Craigslist for good used G614's. I found a set of almost new G614's on the Montana Forum and when I sold the Marathons, the 4 tires & rims cost me $300.

Do a check of your wheels before you go off and buy G rated tires of any brand. Some of the earilier RWs did not come with wheels that will handle the 110 PSI of the G rated tires. If you have to buy new wheels plus tires, then the switch to 17.5 wheels and tires isn't as bad.

The trailer is 2012 purchased in May 2011 have 15000 miles on it.
Rear left tire I had to change this trip as the tire belting has started to separate .this tire was really getting bad.
The right front tire is also starting to separate
Last year brought trailer in to tampa spring and had wheels aligned.
Tires wearing on one side alignment was really bad.
After alignment trailer actual pulled easier and tire temperature was down 10 to 15 degrees
This is my fifth fifth wheel and the first one to give me tire problem and and alignment problems.
All the other trailers were also large fifth wheels.

It might be time to check your wheel bearing and get them repacked.

We purchased Salin tires for our 2012 36FL and Sendel T04 wheels after a double blow out with the Goodyear Marathons (tires and wheels rated at 3750lbs). The Salin tires were a higher profile than the Marathons and somewhat stiffer. We had a suspension issue that has been repaired and during the process Lippert recommended using the G rated Goodyear as those were more in tune with the suspension system on the trailer. We had no problems with the Sailun tires and we put approximately 4K miles on them prior to change out. We traded them to our RV service center in Saint Augustine for $200 when we purchased new G rated tires from them.

If it is a 2012 I'm pretty sure you will need to upgrade the wheels too. I don't think Redwood offered the G tires in 2012, so none of the wheels would have been rated for the 110 psi.

ST tires have been poppin for years on all brands, nothing unique about Redwood. The forumshave been full oftire and alignment issues long before Redwood was everconcept in the CEOs mind. You were probably just lucky on your prior units if you had ST tires.

The GY 614s were an option in 2012 and came with 110 PSI rims, but I believe if you didn't order the option you got the E Marathons and wheels only rated to 80 PSI. So as I mentioned earlier, if you have to go out and buy new wheels to upgrade to G tires, go the extra step and get 17.5 wheels and Commercial grade H rated tires and leave 99% of your tire worries behind.

I haven't check the spec, but one site that I recently visited said that the cross section (width) of the Goodyear 17.5H's was actually narrowerthan the G's.

Even though there are obvious benefits to going with the H's,when I standing behind myRedwood with the G614s I think "Boy, those seem like skinny tires for such a large 5th Wheel." To think that H's are even narrower? Edited by: 5th_Time

Concur, if "H"'s were available as an option we would have gone for it, but we got a great deal on G's so that's what we have and are happy with them.

Last year at Myrtle Beach, I was parked near a high-end 5th Wheel that had dual wheels on both ends of each (2) axles - looked like two dualie pickup axles underneath.

I didn't note the brand, but that was unusual!! I think it was a Newmar Kountry Aire. Anyone know what brand it was for sure?

Yep - that was the brand. I had always thought that was a name for motorcoaches, but apparantly a fifth wheel as well. I followed one for about 2 hours in western Colorado. It was a beautiful coach even with a decade showing on it. Matching Ford dually. It starting me wondering how the frame is laid out to accomodate the width of the wheels because it isn't any wider than mine.

That was a problem with the Duals on a Trailer. The frame had to be spaced closer together with those duals on the outside of the frame. They were very heavy and really shouldn't be towed by anythng less than an MDT
