"Summerizing" my Redwood

As our Redwood sits empty for a lot of the summer, I have been wondering if it is best to keep water in the black water tank to keep what is in there moist. Any thoughts?

If you rinsed your black tank thoroughly when you put it away it should be pretty much empty. I usually rinse mine at least twice sometimes more if the water is not clean that comes out of it.

Doubtful you would/could ever drain it completely dry. Leaving a few gallons it shouldn't hurt anything either.

Danny, That's what I have been doing. I'm in agreement that you can't drain it dry, so I'm leaving 5 gallons, 1/2 cup of Dawn, and a bottle of Calgon in it this year.

Here is what we use for black tank treatment all of the time:
HOLDING TANK TREATMENT

Start with an empty Gal. jug
Pour ¼ cup Calgon Bath Beads into jug.
Fill jug ½ full of water (Shake well)
Slowly pour 40 oz. bottle of Pine-Sol in.(Shake well)
Top off the Gal. with water. (Shake well)

8 oz. Black Tank 4 oz. Gray Tank

It works great.
