Do you use slide supports? Why or why not! Thank you.

It's my understanding that Redwood does not recommend using slide supports of any kind. I was told that the frame is designed to hold the weight of the slides and I imagine the weight helps seal the gaskets around the slide.

I've never used slide supports but have read the pros and cons about them on other forms. I wouldn't use them with the LevelUp system just because any hydraulic system could spring a leak at any time for any number of reasons. If that should happen with a slide out support in place it could cause a lot of damage as the trailer drops down.
As always... just my opinion.

I don't use them because Redwood states I don't have to. They are the ones warranting the coaches structure for five full years - if they say no need that's good enough for me.

Having just set our BR up yesterday, Ihave noticeda considerable amount movement when sitting on the recliners, or at the kitchen table. (both in the slide)my DW put up a small Christmas tree (2 ft)made of foil and you can see it shake as well, I remember Andy (RW Rep)telling me I would not need a kingpin tripod or supports under slides but with the amount of movement I am reconsidering.

I have two additional manual stabilizer jacks at the rear of our RL that helped tremendously with the shake. The overhang from the last set of jacks to the back is pretty far.

Problem with using additional supports is if you have any hydraulic failures ,you will damage the other components.your movement is probably tire related and can be helped to eliminate by getting the tires off the ground by placing blocks under them prior to lowering jacks. It has helped ours by doing so.

I made sure I had 3 feet of wooden planks under each of our tires, I bought 6 Bigfoot Jack pads, I chocked all four tires, I willbe puttingmy extenders between the tires. I do not feel movement on main floor of coach, onlywhen I'm in one of the slides do I feel it, it has a bounce to it, I did check to make sureour slides were completely extended. CW will be coming back to exchange the 30# tanks for 40#'s, they need to replace the lippert leval up system as there is no display to tell you what mode its in, also I ordered a tri glide fifth wheel and not installed. I will have them check that out as well. I'm sure its prolly the norm but don't need a slide falling off.

If I did anything I think I'd stick with the "hitch pin tripod". In my opinion it would be a mistake to put any support under the slides since they are designed to hang on the walls. I'd be fearful that if the jacks settled in the ground even a 1/2 inch, the slides wouldn't hang right and therefore the seals would fail and water could penetrate the trailer.

Dave, Sure like the new picture of your rig...Can you make it any bigger? Does anyone use and trust a digital aor pressure gauge for tires? Ihave 3 heavy duty truck gauges and they all read differently...I don't know if it is from using on Pm's on school busses or not

Funny, that's what my wife asked too....just kidding. If you want to see the picture bigger as well as other picture go to photobucket and just punch in my name (davemolleck) without a space.

I personally think the digital gauges are more accurate because there aren't any moving parts.

Along with slide supports string. Does anyone know what the weight limit is on the slides? Specifally bedroom slide with closet on the 36RL model? I know this is where my washing machine and dryer goes but not sure what the weight limit is. Thanks

A washer is 150 Lbs, not sure what a dryer runs, but I would guess the slide can easily support 500 Lbs probably more, because if you have the Slide in a Slide the main slide has to support the additional slide plus the washer and dryer.
