Don't know why you had any problems with the shocks mine was one of the first and there's no problems as far as ground clearance the only place the lower shock mount may hit is a big rock back in the woods try staying at RV parks and only tow it on paved roads I've never come close to hitting it

How much do you need that close to the tire now if you run down old dirt roads where the centers a foot taller than the ruts your axle may hit before the shock I don't go down roads like that I don't want to get my Redwood dirty

When I installed mine I was able to reuse the u bolts for my 7k axles. The only hard part was getting the u bolts back in as they were spread. I purchased a 13" extension for the bit's and it worked good. The 1/4" plot hole was the hardest to drill. Sonny sent me the brackets and they were the same that came in the package. Ken's extensions look longer than mine.
I will try these and if needed I can add the longer extension

I agree there's something funky about the front shock its at a bigger angle and maybe attached to the wrong side of bracket I can't tell for sure from the picture all I know is I sent pictures to Sonny and he said mine was just like they should be

Looks like the upper bracket mount locations are not symmetrical with the equalizer mount...

I have no worries about clearance. If I hit the shocks I am were I shouldn't be driving! My U-bolts were also fine. No threads sticking out of the nut but nut is flush with top of U-bolt. Checked torque a few times and perfect. I stood my shocks up a bit straighter then some and still have enough travel.

That is what we call out here the "Drum Disk Setup"
I have told myself no disc breaks until I just go with the IS.

I haven't gone to IS because I don't drag it around enough to justify it. I did go with the brakes as I had a few white knuckle stops with the drums. I am still up in the air of if I am going to keep it or upgrade to something else. With the Centerpoint I get a good ride out of it. Time will tell

Did mine like Steve they work GREAT not worried about the clearance. We have a 2016 Redwood 38GK.
