Shade for Norcold refrigerator

We are considering attaching a window awning in order to keep the hot Arizona sun off of the exterior slide out wall where the refrigerator is installed. Has anyone done this? We were hoping this will help make the refrigerator operate more efficiently. Any ideas?

When we had a Propane fridge in our bus I installed one of these and it really helped. You need to exhaust the hot air from around the coils

You just answered a question I had about why this fella did this I figured it was wind that bothered his fridge (Dometic on the Montana I believe), but it sure might have been temp.

Because RV Fridges rely on natural air flow to function, I think I would be concerned adding anything that might change that flow.
Now on our old TT I did add a fan to help increase that air flow and never had any problems in 15 years.
