Whoever designed the cap on the 2013 model is a idiot. Like I want to deal with this cap while kneeling in water at a dump station, I'lll be cutting the end off and putting a male screw plug on this soon.

The tube storage is useless. I upgraded the hose to a better one and the ends won't fit in the tube, besides not being able to get the cap open and shut. I bought a medium size plastic tub with a cover, it holds two hoses with ends and adapters. Keep everything clean and store it in the basement, no more cussin'.

I have a tub to store my hoses in but I wanted the space back for other things. Went to Camp[ing World and bought a bolt on hose storage tube the longest one they had and bolted it to the bottom of my hitch and solved the problem. Also with to Tractor Supply and bought a cargo carrier to slide into the receiver and bolted a 40" storage box on that.Had to lengthen the bar for the receiver RW in thier wisdom put the ladder right in the way so I had to modify to clear it.

Is the camping world tube a larger diameter than the Redwood factory tube?

I'm not real fond of storing the hose in the basement, but I also don't want to use slip fit (blue line) hoses just to get them to fit in the tube.

The camping World tube will accept any standard sewer hose with the connections. I have some of the Blue Line also because my Open Range sewer storage would not fit standard hoses. I mounted the CW tube under the hitch and painted it black. Looks like factory and it will hold about 20 feet of line.

Dave, you're right. The boom is the best. Too bad so many people whined about it (you know who you are) Now look what they have now. Redwood responded. Enjoy...

I bought a 7 ft length of black PVC ~4 in in diameter. I then drilled drain holes and capped one end and have removable cap on the other end. I mounted the tube with hose clamps to the metal square tubing under the rear of the 5th wheel. The tube will easily store 15 feet of sewer hose.

We don't want the sewer hose in the basement, so thanks, this is a great idea.I need to check out the rear of our coach as initial thought is to secure below the square tubing, but have concerns with the reduced clearance. I have seen numerous large coaches transitioning from the ferry to shore and they frequently bottom out at the rear end. As we plan to useferries on both coasts,I have to take this into consideration.

We are also planning to use the rear tow hitch for a bicycle carrier.

Sinder - does you 4" PVChang below the square tubing?

Can the larger Camping World black tube just be installed where the factory puts one? It seems like a nice location.

The CW tube has two mounting brackets molded into the tube and two predrilled holes in each bracket. I suppose it could be mounted anywhere it would fit. I chose to mount mine under my cargo carrier which is mounted in my rear hitch. Clearance from ground to tube is about 24 inches. If that won't clear the ground or road I don't need to be there.

We found out the hard way that BOTH ends of the hose holder open up. As we are on the interstate, a semi pulls up along side blowing his horn and waveing...I pull over and see that the sewer hose is being dragged behind us!Fortunately, it didn't wrap around the axle. I was relieved although very embarrassed to say the least...so make sure BOTH ends are LOCKED.

If you trim the cap ends to match might be easier. End slot on the cap is about 1" the other about 11/2", cut 1 1/2 down with file. CUT TO MATCH make both a little smaller so it will go in slot. File until both easy @ the same time, might work.

I bought a 6" PVC fence post with 2 end caps. I cut the post down to 6', painted it black, drilled drain hole, and mounted it under the coach with 1" metal brackets. On one end I screwed the cap on semi permanent. On the other end I secured the cap with a button bungee. I also notched the bungee end so the 90 degree fitting would fit with the cap in place. Cost little, works great!
