Perhaps they should go and replace the stock at the RW Factory!

What I find interesting about my experience with Bauer is that they never verified whether my product was under warranty. The only time they asked my name or anything remote personal was to get the address for shipping the replacement.

For those interested, i still haven't heard back from RVLock re: dimensions 4.0 (to see if they cover the non-painted area)

Ok, received my replacement RV Locks. While I haven't replaced them yet I did inspect them. There's a huge difference between the ones on the Redwood and the new ones they sent me. The old ones have A LOT of plastic on them. It appears the entire inside portion is plastic. In fact I noticed today my back door inside handle has started cracking from closing the door. The new ones are entirely metal, no plastic other than the small portion around the keypad on the outside. Huge improvement if you ask me!

Also as Atom pointed out earlier the old ones have a tendency to not hold the batteries very well. This has been addressed as well, now they have little tabs that hold the batteries in place while reattaching the cover.

Heard back from RVlock and they are checking into the dimensions. I need to send a photo of the current Bauer lock so will be a few more days.

p.s.) if anyone happens to have a photo already please private message me with photo attached. Thx.

Replaced ours with the new RV Lock with the pad in the handle just before the Rally. Works like a champ and can't be happier.
You will still have the old keypad to the left of the door ..... Had a DRV owner ask me what the second keypad was for ..... Told him didn't all higher end coaches come with a security system too ? Lol. The look of ":-( mine didn't" was priceless.

That keypad to the left of the door, RV lock one, is just on there with two sided tape. You can pull it off and clean up with goo-gone. Had to replace mine a while back.

I just realized that in my post I eluded to an RV Lock being replaced. I was being generic, the lock is the newer Bauer NE locks that I'm replacing. Hopefully I didn't cause any confusion.

You can remove your old keypad if you would like to. Its mounted with a piece of 3m double stick tape. Just be careful not to scratch your paint...
Any one else having any issues, please let us know and we will be happy to help out.

We just tried to set our Keypad.....
Steve opened it up to check on batteries and they were corroded brand new unit.
Once he cleaned it out and put new batteries in it doesn't set-lock-or unlock. the back door wasn't corroded but couldn't set it, this will be added to the endless list until it gets to the service people. They even missed the fan remote wouldn't be bad but who can reach it in over 13 ft. ceiling lol

I just replaced my original lock with the new designed lock from RV Lock. It slipped right into place of the old one and I couldn't be happier. I love the off and on switch so while in storage it isn't using battery power.

Did he "wake" up the lock? Meaning, did he make sure the pad was lit up?

When I got my 38FL back in May the back door keypad would only hold the code for about a week. Got it replaced by RW service and it now works fine.

About a month ago the front door started to loose its code, first after a couple weeks, then a couple of days and finally in just a couple of hours.

After countless resets and battery changes I called RW and they are sending a replacement lock for me to a dealer in Tucson.

Back door lock still working.......

So far both our keypad locks that were replaced are working great, I use them several times every day.
Only problem I had was one day when it was raining pretty hard, I had to get my key out as the keypad on the lock was very wet and did not recognize my finger.

We had problems with our Bauer lock on our 2015 38RL. Changed it once on warranty in August but only lasted a week.

Contacted Rachel at Bauer directly and explained the problem (lock mechanism got stuck) and she shipped out a new lock right away. The new lock looks the same but have a what I think better stability inside. Also you can lock without code - just press the two first two keys and it will lock.

Still takes quite a lot of battery, we change once a week but use rechargeable.

Would be smarter if they added a small cable in the door and connected it to 12 volt so batteries could be charged all the time.

Push BP and 7/8 for a tenth of a second. Lock will lock.

To open again, use your PIN code.
