I bought the rand McNally 7" screen don't remember the model #. Like all things there are glitches but I love it and it works for me. I still duck down every time I go under a bridge that it says is high enough. [emoji3]

I bought the Garmin RV 760LMT a few years ago for that reason - it has an RV mode that lets you put in length, height, weight, and it will steer you away from restricted roads or obstacles.

Great in theory - the problem I have had is it defaults to safe which could send you several hundred miles out of your way. In other words, if it doesn't know the data of an area, such as where most state or national campgrounds area, its steers you away. If you do drive into it, it will tell you that you are in uncharted territory, which puts you where you were before you bought it.

I still use it because the screen is large, it is loud, and Garmin mapping and turn by turn directions have always been my favorite. It has blue tooth, weather, and a bunch of goodies. The rear view camera was pathetic so I returned it (real poor resolution at the monitor).

I use the garmin dezl570 tractor trailer gps and love it! Can set height, weight, width, and propane restrictions and it has always worked very well for me!

I bought the 7" RV GPS and we really don't trust it. It does show us low bridges but as Brad had said earlier, if you're not careful it will take you a few hundred miles out of the way. We will type into the GPS where we want to go and then check either a paper map or the I-Pad to see if it's correct. That way we still have the directions as we drive.

Ya, sometimes I switch it between automobile and RV to see if it is rerouting me with the RV. If it is, I always wonder if it is truly an obstacle, or just uncharted area. Twice I have just taken my chances and followed the automobile route, and never did come across what was bothering it.

We have the 760 as well. You just need to remember when you are driving a smaller vehicle, you need to take the rv setting out of it... I know first hand.

We use the Garmin DZL 760 and love it. I haven't had it send me out of the way yet, if it isn't sure about clearances, it puts up an icon to let you know you are on your own.

I have been using a Rand-McNally 7720 (with 7 inch screen) for 3 years and have had no complaints. I always double check the routes against Good Sam Trip planner just as a sanity check. It has a car mode and an RV mode. It came with life time maps that can be updated for free. On a subscription basis, you can also get real time traffic reports via the internet for example through wifi or Jetpack. The gps can be programmed with your coach's weight, height and length. I had heart palpations the first time I got the warning, "WARNING WARNING....VERTICAL HEIGHT VIOLATION" while driving around St. Louis. I did some very careful approaches to overpasses. Fortunately , they were all marked and I never found any below 13' 6". What I discovered later was that I had been too conservative programming in 14 feet as a minimum height.

Has anyone tried the Rand McNally RV Tablet 80?? Looks to have some neat features and with DeLorme being bought out by Garmin I may be in the market for something new.

I have the Rand McNally 7710 and I compare it against where my truck GPS wants to send me.
There is also a very accurate low bridge file available that can be uploaded to Microsoft Streets and Trips or other apps to confirm low bridges.
Had an issue this summer where the GPS took us 45 minutes out of our way because the low bridge point it had was for the curb lane. Signs on the route told truckers to use the left or center lane... good to know if you have local knowledge... better to be safe than sorry... I have marks on my AC units where we hit low hanging powerlines in an RV park a few summers ago... saw them swinging in my mirrors AFTER we went under... climbed up on roof to look... missed ripping ACs off and severe damage to power lines by 1-1/2".
