I have fade on the front end cap of our 36 FL, it is GELCOAT. Any suggestions to get rid of FADE. I suspect I need to cedar coat the entire RV, then wax or clear coat, I am a real novice @ this issue. The RV has no special paint as I live in TEXAS.

It was my understanding that the non-painted Redwoods had the color throughout the fiberglass. If that's the case you should be able to buff it out with a buffer. The last camp ground I was at, our neighbor was using some new cleaner on his fiberglass that made it really clean but I'm not sure what it was. Try looking into boat cleaners.

Sorry I can't help

I agree, having had boats , they make some good fiberglass cleaners that should clean it right up.

After apply a good wax to bring the shine back and protect the fiberglass.

Brown and dark tan color gelcoats have been having fading problems throughout the RV industry. This has been happening for about two plusyears.
Hopefully, you'll be able to pickup sometype of an oxidizer cleaner, as mentioned above, and then wax it after.
If not, you'll be contacting your favorite Redwood dealer/Redwood manufacturer about the fix.

Herb, if it is fading already it is not your problem, but that of Redwood. Put a warranty claim in and have your dealer take care of it.

Had the same problem with mine. Had it professionally buffed and it came back. Went to factory and had a new front cap installed. The problem is that the gelcoat is too thin and the problem will continue to return. I was told Redwood changed to a different company to supply the front cap due to this problem. Only time will tell if the new cap will be better.

I wish I would have known about the Silver and Black painted before I bought the Red and Black, My F450 is Silver with a dark gray trim. It would have matched perfect, however the Red and Black is still beautiful.

Our 2012 36FL seems to be having the same fading problem with the gelcoat. Anyone else who had this issue, what was the ultimate fix?

The Crossroads Service Center really surprised me during a recent warranty visit... They had someone come in and buff out all the oxidation and reseal the front and rear caps with something called "Permanon Yatch sealer".

Search for it on "ABS Gloves" website. Kind of pricey... but it did one heck of a job. Looks better then the day we bought it.
