Hi, All,

As an RV Noob, I only have experience with my Redwood 36FB being stationary, with the Norcold fridge running on electrical power.

Is it true and/ or advisable to switch the Norcold over to Propane Power while being towed ona three day trip to another state? I have never run the fridge on Propane, so it is kind of a foreign concept for me, and I was going to just empty the fridge, turn it offand prop it open to prevent mold.

Is there any risk with running on Propane while being towed? ...since fire is the big fear for RV living.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts,

Robt.

Mr_Toad,

People travel in these all the time with the propane on. Your fridge is made just for that reason.

We've been on several trips toFlorida, Indiana, and upper State New York. We always leave our propane on durung travel. Gotta..........keep the beer cold.

Just set it on "Automatic" to switch over from electric to propane and vice versa and you'll be good to go.

Agreed to all above. I leave my fridge set on automatic, even while hooked to shore power. That way if the power goes out, the fridge automatically flips to propane and keeps everything cold. I've traveled the past 11 years with the propane on for the fridge in all of the RV's I have owned. Never a problem. Enjoy your journey!

Groovy!

Thank you all for your advice....

I wish there was a manual for RV living.

(Well...actually, there is.....I just haven't taken the time to sit down and actually read it.)
