Never had a problem. Are you traveling with it down or up? Mine are always up.

Ours are generally Up when traveling and we're got about 35K miles on the RW, including traveling the "Top of the World Highway" from the Yukon into Alaska and the shade is still up and functioning.

Mine has broke on a 39 mb. If you hold it with your hands where the brackets connect, you will see there is a lot of flex in the aluminum chassis that holds the blinds. I did not feel like 2 brackets could withstand the flexing from the bounce that our roads provide. You could remedy this by having a center bracket. I repaired mine by fastening it directly to the cabinet above with self tapping screws. Careful not to get the screw into the blind when fully retracted. Let me know if you want detailed instructions.

Dave.....after reading about all the problems folks have had with the newer blinds, I think I am glad we have the original style day/night shades. Ours have been problem free.

IMHO -
The key to the old and new blinds is when towing or in storage put them up....

the old folding blinds stay creased this way and it's less strain on the strings...
the newer blinds are glued on the rollers and if left down too far will fall off... especially in the heat

Then Dealer needs to replace them! (assuming you are under warranty)

The shades are sweet! One of what we considered a perk vs a downgrade in 2013.

They are adjusted fairly easy using this guide. I just gently pull down a 1/2 and let go, and they glide up, the opaque shade parking higher than the back one so you can grab either (stops are also adjustable).

I agree with the concept - 'when traveling - have both shades in the up position' - less stress on the rollers.

If you are unable to fix, Redwood will ship replacements to your dealer. We just received a new blind for the LR slide.

Our last 5th Wheel had the Pleated Day / Night shades, they always worked well.
When we were coming back East from California last spring, my DW was following behind me on I-10, she called me and said the rear window pleated blind was falling down. I stopped, took it down the rest of the way and repaired it that night when we stopped. It only had two fasteners in it, not enough for such a large blind.

Also, Redwood does not use MCD Brand roller shades, they use http://www.irvineshadeanddoor.com/
There are operation and adjustment documents on their website.

We also run on the highway with our roller shades in the up position, much less banging around since they are not fastened at the bottom like the pleated shades are.

I can't get any of Irvine's downloads to work - so not sure it that is what I have or not. The Limit switch settings and instructions on mine are exactly like MCD. Maybe they changed brands once or twice or 300 times

I couldn't get the download links to work from Irvine, so I sent an email asking if they could email them to me.

This is as good as it gets (what they sent me in attachment) - but may be of help to anyone that has the Irvine shades.

The MCDs are almost identical but the knobs are both black, the speed knob has no marks on it and the autostop knob has white marks on it. Just based on the instructions, mine are definitely MCD with a build date about March 2013.

Wow AA, the same professional instructions I got from emailed from Irvine Shade.
Guess Redwood got a better price from Irvine than MCD
(Of course Redwoods position is the Irvine Shades are better than the MCD Shades)
