Residential refrigerator

We had a repairman out to work on our 2015 38GK refrigerator. He wanted to turn off the electric to the refrigerator. We could not find a breaker in the panel for this, nor could we find the plug into the wall. Our residential refrigerator is built into a large cabinet in the wall. Do we have to pull out this large heavy refrigerator just to unplug it?

No, look behind the bottom drawer, left of the refer. It's in there.

Probably so. On our RL, the circuit that controls the fridge is labeled as the living room circuit. But, everyones circuits have been mislabeled.

Found the plug right where you said. Thanks. If the breakers are mislabeled isn't that a code violation and dangerous? Thanks for the help.

The circuit breaker actually goes to the inverter. The inverter, if on, will sense shore power if your rig is plugged in. If not, the inverter will supply the 110, so you are best to unplug it from the wall.

Getting into that bottom drawer is a trip in itself !
twisting and turning between it and the island WHILE squeezing and pulling --- almost sounds like work !

Watt's wrong with the fridge ?
Is it the ball bearings coming out of the freezer drawer slides like mine ?

For later -
you know you can put it in demo mode to stop the cooling ?
push the freeze and power freeze buttons for about 3 seconds....
push again to toggle back on

I don't believe this article is talking about residential refrigerators; looks more like the old type of RV frigs.

Yep, article is about the Law Suits against Norcold and Dometic over their RV Fridges. Had some pretty scary pics included.
We're seriously thinking of moving to an MB with Full Residential package including the Induction Cook Top and the Butler's Pantry IPO the 1/2 Bath.

The MB would be our choice too if it were not for the limited pantry space. We want the 1/2 bath so the conversion to a walk in pantry is a no go for us.

Have you winterized your rv? This is a subject I am interested in. I just purchased a new RW with a residential frig and would like to hear about this. I emailed Samsung asking if I could by pass the ice maker when winterizing. Haven't heard back from them yet. I am hoping I can put a by pass valve in the water line just as it enters the ice maker. I put my RW in storage right after I purchased it,.so I haven't had a chance to look at the ice maker and see where the water line comes in.
Hope your able to resolve your issue.

Yes - most will probably freeze as the ice maker line runs under the coach OUTSIDE and up into the slide ...

At least on our 38gk there is a cutoff under the kitchen sink - do use it because as soon as it thaws you will have a mess behind the drawers next to the fridge...

(don't ask me how I know )

Samsung will be no help as they are not rv savvy - at least the two I spoke to weren't.

John,
I also have a 38gk and I have concerns about the ice maker. This cut off under the sink, does it by pass the ice maker? I would prefer not to put the pink stuff into the ice maker if I can help it. My RW is new and I haven't had the chance to really look at it. It is in storage right now. Any advice about the 38gk would be very welcomed.

The cutoff does turn off the water supply to the ice maker, but it still needs to be drained or blown out with air pressure...

Since we are very part time, after ours froze we've just left the ice maker off and just get ice the few times we can go camping.

John,
Thanks for your reply. When I winterize next winter I will blow out the lines, then turn on the cutoff switch (hope there is one there), and then put in the pink stuff. But wouldn't the pink stuff be pushed into the ice maker when I turn off the cutoff switch and allow the water in? Since you know what the cutoff switch looks like, could a three way cutoff be put in there so I could drain the pink stuff out of the lines before it got into the ice maker?
If it becomes too much of a hassle, I may do the same thing you do and just turn off the ice maker and get ice when we need it.
Thanks

unfortunately,
the sink cutoff is higher than the loop under the rv and up into the back of the fridge so draining will be tough

Since we've order the Residential Fridge with our New MB, I've been looking for something to secure the doors while in transit, other than a velcro strap.
Our friends just arrived yesterday with their new Jayco and it has the perfect solution:
