Replacing LG TV in Lvg rm

We have 2015 38GK. We purchased Samsung TV to replace LG in living room. The TV is above the fireplace in a side mount swing out tv mount. The hole location on Samsung doesn’t match the mount. We cannot find a mount like the one we have. There is no adjustment on this one.
Has anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it?

One option is find a mount that will work. Another option is see if a sheet metal shop can make you an adapter plate.

I went from our OEM 42" LG to a 43" 4K LG after the OEM lost many of it LED Diffusers creating strips of bright lights.
Even going from LG to LG the spacing didn't match, so I drilled holes to match the new TV and had to cut off a section of the mounting plate to allow access to the connections.
I did it all with just a battery powered drill, hacksaw, and my time on a picnic table.

Does the plate cover the holes of the new TV? If so, drill holes in the plate to align with those of the new TV. If not, get a piece of sheet metal to cover the TV pattern and fasten that to the existing mount plate either with screws or have it welded. Use 1" flat bar and fabricate "extension" arms from the mount plate to the New TV holes.

Adapter Plate

Hello R38,
I had the same issue and found a 'universal mount adapter ' on Amazon that looked like a metal piece of Swiss Cheese with multiple mounting options. I will see if I can look up the order and post the part number.
Suggestion, have a second person to help with the mounting; in my impatience I did it by myself and it was not easy.

This is probably a little late, but I did replace my tv this summer in a 2015 GK and had the same issue. The resolution was pretty simple. I kept the big plate and bought an adapter kit from amazon. Only $14.00.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 , Husky Mounts. The back plate is set up for 400x400 vesa.

After installing the TV, I had to lower the mounting arm a few inches.

I just had my 65" LG come off the rear wall during my last trip. Turns out that they did not install the 2 bottom thumb screws on the mount that stop the TV from sliding side t side, and possibly jumping off the wall...

Mine finally jumped off the wall, breaking the TV and the Fireplace mantle.

I went to Costco and purchased a new LG TV and it mounted exactly as the older one did.
