replacing King mattress in RL

OK, who has replaced their mattress in the RL floor plan ? Were you able to get the old one out, and new one in without much difficulty ?

My concerns are the bedroom door, and twisting it up onto the bed frame. . .

This I cool gell has to go, and go NOW ! ! !

We put in a Tuff and Needle mattress in ours last year was easy. New Mattress shipped in a box unrolled the mattress on the bed cut bag and it expanded to shape. The cost was about 500.00 and it sleeps amazing. Removing old mattress was not to bad but took some time to get through the bedroom door.

Sleep number would work the same way for installation.

We purchased a king “Purple” mattress for our home and loved it so much that we ordered one for our Redwood. You order online and they ship it tightly rolled up to you. VERY comfortable, cool & no “canyon’s”. Firm but very comfortable. Very heavy and arkward to carry but no issues on the RV. Check out their website.

we replaced ours with a tempurpedic. I did not have any issues since my wife had the delivery guys do it. It was minimal effort on their part.

Tuft and Needle is a Memory foam mattress. It is on the med firm side but has gotten a little softer in the last year. We really like the mattress and not as costly as a Tempurpedic. If I remember it has a 10 year warranty also

That was the first thing we did when moving from our Montana to our '12 36RL, OEM mattress came out and our Sleep Number when in, putting the RW OEM into the Montana. Daughter's Boyfriend and I did the switch.

Our late '16 build 36RL has the iCool Gel(sp?) mattress with a size of about 72x78 (or at least that is what I measured the best I could!). The "Tuft and Needle" and the "Purple" are 76x80. Will these larger sizes fit in a 36RL? It is already kind of tight around the end of the bed area. Has anyone found a good mattress that is a "short King" size of 72x75 (or near this size)? We keep looking but so far no luck.
Thx

You could always have one made at a mattress shop
We have a queen 60×80 in ours and have plenty of room at the end of the bed. Also have slide in slide

When I purchased my Sleep Number, Camping world had the RV size. IIRC with the membership discount, it was priced competitive.

No problem. We replaced ours with a pillow top memory foam from Lazy Days. We have a 2013 Redwood 36RE. You'll also won't want to get out of bed in the morning either with that mattress.

We have! You just need to find one the width of your bed to where the slide goes into the drawers. No trouble.

I purchased a Sleep Number from Camping World and they just shipped it to me. It was $1200 and I love it! 25 year warranty on it as well.

Ours was ordered as a king matress but came as a queen. The dealer was able to replace the frame and mattress to a king OEM mattress with on issue.
