Reidential Style Refrigerator

OK Here we go. We just purchased an RW with a residential refrigerator. My question is, Are these refrigerators setup to run on inverted power while the coach is being towed or disconnected from shore power?

Thanks.....

Yes.

Yes. They automatically start to use the inverter/batteries when disconnected from the main power.

And then your truck is charging your batteries when towing.

Change the setting in the inverter if you are full timer

Easiest way is to set the inverter to be on all the time in the settings on the remote control panel.

Then it work much like a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply).

This works best for us since we are full timers.

With our solar system, if we are orientated to the sun on a clear sunny day we can easily get 8 to 10 hours on the non-residential fridge. Otherwise it depends on they type and number of batteries you have.

We currently have 2 cheaper dealer supplied 12V batteries and without good solar gain we get 2 to 3 hrs before the batteries drop to about 50%. On upgrading the batteries and adding a 2nd panel I expect to be able to run the fridge continuously.
